Sorry I'm just tagging you because you seem to be around riomica is asking something about ds-160 could you check the May topic if you know anything about it. I think not many are around in May right now..

Hiya,

No problem!

I got an invoice number along with my case number as well, but haven't done DS160 myself yet, so didn't look in to it before. Just did and responded to RioMica :)

Seems like the invoice number is irrelevant for K1's as we pay our visa fees directly to the embassy/consulate.

Hey yall! Received my noa2 on January 25. How will i know which medical documents are needed? Is there anything i can be doing while i wait? This process is so stressful but my husband is worth it all.

Start calling NVC after about 10 days to ask if your case has been received and if a case number has been generated.

Once you have the case number, you can track where the application is (at NVC, in transit, etc).

Your post made me check the case tracker, and WHOOP! In transit as well! :jest:

I'd checked before going to sleep, was still "at NVC" at that time. Guess they updated shortly thereafter.

Quoting myself here - status has changed to "ready" since posting :D

So yep, guess that was another electronic one.

And, I guess I was lucky to see it being in transit - could've easily missed it, haha :)

I have a quick question, in the instructions document on affidavit form, they have asked to submit a statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institution regarding account  details. Do you think bank statements will be enough for this purpose or do we need to go to the bank and ask for such a letter?

I see... I am not sure.. In packet 4 details for Montreal consulate, they ask you to book you medical appointment as soon as you get a notification from NVC or Montreal consulate about your interview date and time (I think that's the case for CR-1). In K1 cases, I don't think NVC provides us an interview date, we have to book the date ourselves. If we know how long the medical stays valid then it will be easy to make a decision of whether to have medical right away or not (I read somewhere that's its valid for 1 year but I am not sure). I was also reading in blogs that sometimes it takes a couple of months to get an interview date from Montreal consulate. It's a little confusing.

To add more to confusion, have a read of the following statement I copied from Packet 4 (available online):

"Please contact one of the designated physician’s offices listed to schedule your medical exam. Please state that you are an applicant for an immigrant or K visa, as the case may be, and provide the date of your visa interview. The panel physician’s office will inform you of the fees for the exam and tests."

According to above statement, you have to book an interview date first because you will be asked to provide this date for medical. So, I am not sure myself. Maybe someone else can provide us with some more insight. Or maybe you can just directly call at physician's office and ask them (that will be the easiest) if you can book your medical before getting your interview date (that will be soon too).

I don't think so.  From what I've heard, for Montreal only, the Dr's won't schedule an appt without the interview date.

Can anyone explain this :

No. The 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline minimum income requirement, the most recent year's tax return, and other requirements only apply when Form I-864 is needed. Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

Im not sure if I understand this fully. so from a 2 person household... what is the required salary that the USC has to have???

Package Delivered                : May 19, 2018

Oh that was pretty fast, congratulations!

So, that means that after 1 week I could start calling NVC?

We just got approved on January 31st, but my fiance hasn't received the hard copy yet.

100% over poverty line is for I-134

125% over poverty line is for AOS I-864.

However, it's recommended that you have income 125% over the poverty line anyways.

You can search for I-864 on the uscis.gov website, and it will tell you the most recent income guidelines. I'm on mobile now, so I can't easily do it.
