A lot of our evidence of an ongoing relationship is in Spanish. Am I supposed to translate each screenshot in English? Also, is there a form or letter I need to write saying I’m bilingual in English and Spanish and can translate accurately? Tia.

Any necessary documents need to be submitted in Englsh. And no, you cannot do the translating  As far as screenshots of skype, messager, etc..these are not necessary documents but supporting data to show a bona fide relationship. I would select just a few from say, each month, and just attach the english version to each screenshot. The concept here is to show you have been in communication over a period of time. I am sure the CO's in DR are bilingual and may appreciate an honest translation.PS. They are not going to read, say, a hundred pages of screenshots, so keep it simple.

If you are competent in both languages and sign a statement as such, you can self translate

Ok, so when i start the ongoing relationship part  (evidence) I’ll use photos, plane tix, boarding passes, itieneraries. Then before i place all the screenshots I’ll write a letter saying I’m competent in both languages and sign it. Then  on the bottom of each picture i can translate what was said. I’m not planning on having tons of pages of screen shots, just a few each month.

Its easier just to to get the essential documents translated.
And save all of the Text messages and such for the sideload at the NVC stage, in which you wont need to have them translated.

A K-1 does not have an NVC stage.  However, anything submitted in a language other than English requires and English translation regardless of where it is at

My bad,, I didnt notice  that i was in the K1 section.  

I cant speak much on the K1 process, but with the I130 you only need translations for the USCIS stage.
Since my embassy is in Santo Domingo (Spanish),  I can get away with not having to translate Spanish documents and texts once i get past the USCIS.

Same embassy for me. It’s only our messages in Spanish. All other documents that need to be translated like his birth certificate will be.

I don't think translations are needed for your conversations because they are not official documents. Things like birth certificates, passports, and so on, are the things that need to be translated, if I am not mistaken.

I had a quick question about chat screenshots I have with my fiancée. I plan on using them for her K-1 interview in Moscow. In Russia, there are hundreds of other languages spoken, whether they are other ethnic languages or languages of immigrants. Would you need to translate conversations in, say for example, Ukrainian, for the interview? We don't speak in English to each other. However, even though we both speak Russian, our conversations are in aforementioned third language (such as Ukranian, for example). Would I need to translate these chats with a translation certification and have the translation notarized? Ukrainian is not Russian and nor is it English. However, these are not official documents so I assumed that I might not need to translate them?
