Hi

 

When we got our NOA2 we had to find out through mail because the USCIS website never budged from "received". Just recently my husband recevied his EAD and advanced parole approval, but USCIS still says received. Are other people receiving approvals via online? I just want to know whether to expect updates about his Green Card online, or if I should just wait for mailed updates.

same... there has been many updates via mail for my parents AOS but the website still says "case received".... they are lacking a lot lately on updating

this isn't necessary true. in my experience (my timeline below) when I was going through all my process... the status updates where amazing. always on time.... but ever since I applied for my parents back in September 2016...they have sucked

A sample of one does not make a trend.  I have been a member here for more than 10 years.  Complaints on accuracy and reliability have been posted since it first came on line.  Maybe it is 80% accurate or maybe 95% accurate.  I don't know but it should be better than it is

Case says READY but consulate says case is not in system, I jumped the gun and booked an interview but they say its invalid until I receive the letter so I might have to cancel it.

Appointment Letter: Flew to Juarez just to get this, its actually 2 letters you need.

Interview Day: Jan 2nd   Interview Result: APPROVED

Tracking Number Received: Via email notice and website the afternoon of Jan 4th    Visa Delivered: Friday Jan 5th Mexico City

USCIS Notice - Green Card mailed: 3/28/18

You guys are lucky you can check your statuses online. I haven't been able to check my case status online since I filed last year September. I keep getting validation error -

Agreed - it's accurate for the vast majority of cases. Unfortunately, there's also a large number of cases where it just doesn't work or isn't updated. It's been this way for years.

It’s not a case of the website being down or problems with server. USCIS doesn’t always update the website on most cases, or sometimes they take days or weeks to update something in their website system. They’re just slow and not really concerned about it. I don’t think they have people who constantly monitor their website. They should because sometimes that’s the only way to find things out.

all USCIS and the ones that follow

our CEAC said ready for interview long after he arrived in US (a year later after getting visa it finally said issued

It runs a bit slower since they have so much work to do & ahead of them, daca for example everything is priority but the online site probably not as of for now , they update 2 days after your mail . It’s ok as long as you it in your hand don’t worry. & I got my interview for aos 4 months after I received ead/ap combo card. 

Be patient, don’t rush them either.

The main page (uscis.gov) is reachable.  When I try to open the link to case status, getting error message, Secure Connection Failed.

When trying to look at processing times, it gets to the page, but the dropdown menu for the forms isn't working.

 

It's things like this that make me think that having the government run the healthcare system would be a HUGE mistake.  If they can't do a mundane task like keep a website operational, how the hell are they going to do healthcare?

Every website goes down. None have a 100% SLA.

This particular tool does have some issue, though. But they are transitioning case statuses to the new DHS website so presumably they aren't focusing on the old tool as much anymore.

I would also note it's a very sudden (~2 day notice) federal holiday. The individual(s) responsible for this tool are likely only on-call. There also shouldn't really be case status updates today as the IOs were also off.

The site seems to be back up right now.
