K3 is obsolete almost never issued. Your best bet is the cr1/ir1.

Just go for the CR-1 and save yourself the time/stress of an I-129F that will never be used.

Spousal visa route is your only option.  K3 is you file will be administratively closed after which CR1 or IR1 petition will be approved.

Try looking through the guides, but as mentioned and as many people have found out, K3 will have you kicking yourself

Biometrics: Mexico City Dec 27th Medical: Mexico City Dec 28th

Case says READY but consulate says case is not in system, I jumped the gun and booked an interview but they say its invalid until I receive the letter so I might have to cancel it.

Appointment Letter: Flew to Juarez just to get this, its actually 2 letters you need.

Interview Day: Jan 2nd   Interview Result: APPROVED

Tracking Number Received: Via email notice and website the afternoon of Jan 4th    Visa Delivered: Friday Jan 5th Mexico City

USCIS Notice - Green Card mailed: 3/28/18

Ok, so I am still a little confused.  After reading them both, I do not have to file the k3, but just file the CR1?  I would like it if someone from Jamaica who has completed the process can help me understand..

 

What are the different processes.  We already have a marriage certificate.  The K3 is what I was always told to file, but now im seeing that k3 takes a longer route?  Is this true?

What are the benefits of the K3 or the Cr1

K-3 is not being issued anymore.  Not only in Jamaica but worldwide.  Concentrate on the I-130 for CR1/IR1.

The I-129F for a K-3 would almost certainty not even get to the embassy. USCIS adjudicates both the I-130 and I-129F together as a matter of policy. NVC closes the I-129F if it arrives at the same time or later than the I-130, also by policy. Putting these 2 rules together leaves almost no room for the K-3 to continue and even touch the embassy (let alone if they would send it back anyway, which some have done in the past). Jamaica has no role in USCIS or NVC's actions on the I-129F.

 

I don't know who said to file for the K-3. They may have just heard it from somebody else or have gone through the process years ago (when a K-3 was a practical path).
