Are you from the Philippines? If yes...CENOMAR is needed during the interview. This document will prove that you are still single and/or has been married before (instead of CENOMAR, an advisory on marriage will be issued) . What they need in the CFO seminar is your fiance's Affidavit of Legal Capacity to Marry, which he can acquire at the US Embassy in Manila or US Consulate Office in Cebu.

As for the ITR, your fiance needs a co-sponsor with the petition.

hello happyinlove,

first, you have to know if your fiance is 125% above poverty line according to the number of persons (including child/ren from past relationships) in the household. Here is the link. If he is, then no need for co-sponsor.

When assets are used, the assets must equal 5 times the difference between the annual income and the

needed 125% of the poverty level, this is because the affidavit is in effect for 5 years. For instance, if you

needed $15,500 income and had an annual income of $13,500, you would need an extra $2,000 of assets for 5

years, or a total of $10,000 in assets in addition to your income. In general, if you are deficient on yearly income

for sponsorship and your assets are somewhat borderline, do not take chances--have a co-sponsor. If you do not

have a job or a steady income from other sources (such as retirement income), you will likely have to get a

co-sponsor for your spouse, even if your assets are adequate. The USCIS looks VERY CLOSELY at current income

and not just the assets.

You can check this link too for some tips.

hey. i went to the CFO after I'd gotten my visa. They only asked me for xerox copies of my passport and visa (though you sould have your original with you, of course). I'm sorry, though, I don't know what to do about the affidavit of support thing in your case. Good luck :)

I don't know of any K-1 petitions that were successful using a cosponsor. Some here say it's possible, but I've seen no concrete evidence of it. Cosponsors are sometimes allowed for IR-1/CR-1 visas.

2 possibilities:

1. He goes to work to qualify.

2. Get married, file a spouse petition, use a cosponsor.
