Hey to all VJers....Happy New Year and wishing all is well with everyone or at least all will turn out well.

I called NVC and they gave me the HCM case # and Invoice ID #.  When I 1st went on to check it at https://ceac.state.gov/ to check on the status, it gave me steps to do as far as choose an agent....and so on.  Now when i recheck it again, it saids "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center. "

I have a few questions:

1.  Do you guys think I could start the DS-160 now by knowing the the case # and the ID #?  Or I need to wait until my fiance get the notice from the consular office until she can do it?

2.  Can she get the Original Justice Record Check # 2 now?  I believe when i researched it, this report is valid for 1 year so i'm assuming we can get it now?

Besides gathering the documents, what else do you think i should do?  Please help

DS-160 needs only USCIS case number if I remember well so you can fill it right now.

In my country the justice record check is valid for 1 year so I got one months ago, if your fiancée doesn’t have one that’s about right time to apply for one.

I would suggest starting with medical bcs it needs to be completed at least 1 week before the interview. And it’s done only by certain clinics and doctors, embassy site should have them listed somewhere.

Go ahead and fill out your ds-160 and submit it. Yes you can go get your justice record #2. Once it is at ready instead of in transit then go on the site below, fill out the form and say your case is ready and you will like to have the packet 3 letter emailed to you. You can print that out. You then go to ustraveldocs and register an account. Once you input your ds-160 and hcm#, then you can print out a payment slip. Go to the VN post to pay it. After a day you can go back on ustraveldocs and schedule your appointment. Only after you have an appointment, then you can schedule your medical and immunizations in vn.
