First off, my comment in all caps to which you refer was not directed at you, nor in response to you.

And yes, I have a memory of conversations that happened before your arrival.  Just as I imagine things other people said prior to you meeting me.  Sorry (not sorry) if my memory of past conversations doesn’t fit your particular motif, but it has helped to build who I am today.

All that being said, there IS voter fraud, as I said before.  I have read of cases where dead people have voted, some twice; of people voting in two different locations (as if that could happen “by accident”); of illegals voting.  Do those votes matter?  Some say no, but I say they do.  Because if they are allowed to continue, if we just turn a blind eye to 100 illegal votes today, then 200 next year, and 1,000 the year after... at which point to the legal votes cease to matter?

And no, I am in no way insecure over the election.  America voted, and the right (better choice) president was elected.  It’s just a crying shame we had to pick between the two worst possible candidates.

I only meant to suggest that we should focus our discussion on those that are actually present and actively engaged in the discussion. Making comments that apply to other people that used to post here seems rather pointless. They aren't here now so it just ends up off topic and appears to be conflict-seeking.

I'm more than happy to continue the discussion.

Illegal votes won't make legal votes "cease to matter" for a long time (if ever). We are still talking about a small percentage of the country - 7 percent are non-citizens (legal and illegally here). No data suggests that the majority of non-citizens vote, it's a small minority. Of the 71 non-citizens in that study whose voting was verified, only 7 voted (10%). Of the 300 something in 2008 that we're polled, something close to that claimed to have voted.

So that's 10% of 7% of the US pop - 0.7%

Will that number increase if we do nothing? Possible, though in that study the numbers for 2010 were substantially lower than 2008 so it's not that clear cut.

I'm not saying it's not impossible for it to have an impact in the future, and as I've said I am supportive of voter IDs (with caveats as I've explained). I just don't think it's doom and gloom. Illegals aren't going to somehow overpower citizens in voting any time soon, if ever.
