I received an RFE in on March 21, 2007 for our I-129F. I returned to China last month, and we got all the additional information and signatures. I mailed them in the day after I returned (April 23, 2007). USCIS acknowledged receipt on April 27, 2007. Today, May 4, 2007 I received an email from the USCIS that the I-130 has been approved. But the RFE was for the I-129F. So, is that still being processed and awaiting a response? I don't understand.

Congrats on your 130 approval! 130 is different from 129F and you will get a second notice when 129F gets approved.

I-130

2007-03-17: NOA1

2007-06-01: Approved

I-129F (K-3)

2007-03-26: NOA1

2007-06-01: Approved

2007-07-26: Interview at Consulate

2007-08-06: US Entry

AOS

2007-10-31: AOS NOA1

2008-04-04: Green Card received.

Removing conditions

2010-01-19: Filed I-751

2010-01-26: Check cashed

The two events are not connected. Your I-130 is approved. I expect that since your I-129F is not approved yet, your I-130 will be forwarded to NVC. This means once your I-129F is approved you'll have two horses in the race and have some choices to make. For now, you can choose whether to whip the I-130 through NVC or abandon it.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

2-8-2007: I-130 petition sent on ...forgot to do the overnight

2-12-2007: Receipt Date - Received by Texas USCIS

2-16-2007: Notice Date

2-22-2007: check cashed

2-24-2007: Received NOA1 letter in mail (from CA)

5-16-2007: touched

5-17-2007: approved

5-21-2007: NOA2 in da mail

2-26-2007: sent 129f overnight via USPS (should get to them on 2-27-2007 by noon)

3-1-2007: Receipt date - Received by chicago center (noted on Notice I-797)

3-5-2007: Notice Date (I-797)(Also noted on the Notice I797-C)

3-7-2007: Check cashed

3-10-2007: Received NOA1 in the mail(Notice I797)

3-15-2007: Notice Date on the I797-C

3-17-2007: USCIS Web site updated to notify of transfer

3-20-2007: Notice of transfer in mail

3-30-2007: Touch #1 CSC updated USCIS web site to notify me that they have my case

4-2-2007: touched (#2)

5-16-2007: touched

5-17-2007: Approved

5-21-2007: NOA2 in da mail

5-29-2007: case # assigned...

5-30-2007: Forwarded to mumbai consulate

6-1-2007:Mumbai sent out packet 3

6-13-2007: called DOS and NVC to make sure mumbai had the case. we never got the packet 3 perhaps no one was at home!?!?

6-14-2007: Wife overnights packet 3 which was downloaded from the mumbai consulate site, filled it out, and sent it in along with other documents

6-15-2007: packet 3 delivered to mumbai consulate

We sent our I-129F in on April 9th. The site still only says that they received the I-130 and the last touch appears to be April 2nd. We received the NOA1's for both petitions and recently another receipt advising they transferred our file to California to speed things up....yet still nothing further on the site. Is this normal?

Unsure | received NOA2

I-129F

04-09-2007 | mailed I-129F to Chicago

04-20-2007 | cheque cashed

04-23-2007 | Received NOA1 - advised it could take 60-180 days

to process

05-04-2007 | file transferred to California

05-08-2007 | touched

05-31-2007 | email received re: I-129F is pending at CSC

06-01-2007 | touched

08-23-2007 | approved and to be forwarded to NVC

Unsure | received NOA2

10-02-2007 | received letter dated 09-27-2007 from NVC stating they received it and would forward

to Consulate in Vancouver

10-09-2007 | emailed Consulate to advise of my new address in Canada

10-10-2007 | email received from the Consulate stating they received my file on 10-01-2007 and

mailed the package to me but would mail another that day to my new address.

10-11-2007 | received the original package that was mailed to my old address (forwarded by the post

office)

10-24-2007 l medical exam and faxed checklist to Consulate

10-25-2007 l interview date letter mailed to me by Consulate

10-29-2007 l email reply from Consulate advising they mailed the letter and my interview date is set for

my birthday, November 13, 2007

11-13-2007 l interview at 1:00 at Consulate. Verbal approval

11-14-2007 l picked up my visa....woohoooo
