OK...maybe I just don't understand this "touch" thing. I signed up for e-mail updates on the USCIS.gov website. The only thing that I have heard is that they have forwarded my I-129 application to California. Other than that...NOTHING. No dates have changed on the USCIS website, and I've received no other e-mails. Does this mean my file isn't getting touched. PLEASE help me with this concept. Thank you.

A "touched" does not necessarily mean receiving an email notification. When somebody is sorting/reviewing your case, the date in the "last updated" column changed. So basically, it's needs a careful look (and memory) of your part.

01-11-2014 N-400 Packet Sent

01-17-2014 Check cleared

01-24-2014 Received NOA dated 01/14 in the mail

02-20-2014 1st Service Request created for delayed biometric appointment letter

03-01-2014 Received 'yellow' letter in the mail

03-28-2014 2nd Service Request created since the 1st request had no response from the assigned Service Center

04-07-2014 Received biometric appointment letter in the mail

04-25-2014 At last, my biometric appointment!!!!

06-09-2014 Interview - recommended for approval!

The statistics page is very accurate. It gave me the estimated time to receive NOA 1, and it was off by one day. I sent off my petition overnight to Chicago, and seven days later received my NOA1. I'm close to the approximate day of approval which is 49 days.
