What sucks is that my wife is 4 months pregant and if we dont get the approval soon she wont be able to travel (I believe airlines wont let pregnant women travel after their 6th month of pregancy.

Most will let pregnant women fly right up until the last weeks, for US based airlines, here's a good chart:

http://www.babycenter.com/general/6976.html

I hope things work out for you, we were also hoping my wife would get here before the baby was born, but it looks like we we won't make it so I'm heading over in about two weeks to be there for the birth in Uganda.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS that you all are having a baby. It must be very exciting for you, but I imagine, a little anti-climatic since you are unable to be with your wife (at least that is how I feel, I wish I could be at her side to feel the baby kick, talk to the baby, massage her belly, etc.).

I was recently told that there is a possibility that even if my wife gets her K-3 visa approved before her delivery date, she may not be able to take the medical exams because they require x-rays? Have you heard anything like that? That would be a bummer...waiting all this time, getting the visa approved and not being able to travel due to a technicality.

Your wife may get the medical exam. However, they may restrict the exam to just exempt from vaccinations and x-rays. The embassy will provide you with information of what must be done. This will not deny her chance of a VISA approval. Some embassy will simply say, once you give birth just mail the x-ray to them. Or, when you file for AOS, then provide them with the x-rays.

Consolemaster- Maybe it's just imagination, but it seems like my application has been touched numerous times today. Each time I refresh the Case Status page I have a different time. It almost seems to be that that date and time is the last time that their server is refreshed (in other words information as of that time).

Maybe I am not reading the correct touch date and time?

LOL

Don't mistake the server uptime versus the date that has been posted for underneath the updated column before you click on your case number. The time at the bottom indicates the server time, not the time your file is being reviewed. I hope this will help your conscious.

Oh no. Now I am confused. I might be reading the wrong page. Where is the updated column? On the left side of the page I have "Change of Address, 'Services while youwait", etc. and then the body of the page "Receipt Number, Application Type" etc.??

After you logged in, the first page you see is the page. It's also known as your PORTFOLIO page. On the left side of the table gives a link to your case that my click to see what is being done. And, to the right of it is the date of last updated.

Oh no!!! It likes like they havent even started working on it!?!?!?! According to the information, it was last updated on 3/12/07. How can that be, when it was sent to the CSS on the 8th of March? I was expecting that they would have touched it sometime in April

I feel that this is terrible news:(

Gorock, not having touches doesn't mean they haven't worked on it. Sometimes, petitions don't get any touches at all until approval. Don't be disheartened. Look at similar timelines for CSC to figure out when you should hear something.

Actually, it probably does mean they haven't worked on it! But that's the way it is for almost everyone. All this time that goes by we are just waiting our turn in line. Once the turn comes, they can process the petition quickly (often the same day they start it if everything is in order). So it's still nothing to worry about. Many people go months without any touches and all and suddenly get their NOA2.

So essentially progress IS being made even if you are not getting any touches....because you are always moving up in line. That's the first goal here...just get your place in line and let the countdown begin!

but is it reasonable to expect the NOA2 the upcoming week? in other words - all these touches do serve a purpose..right? our senior VJ members is it usual to see all these consistent touches before an approval? thanks

neel06,

It usual that numerous touches prior to an approval is a good indication for an approval; however, some have received multiple touches in the past and not receive a word. I'm hoping ours fits the former instead of the latter.

if you're pregnant (i mean she is pregnant you just helped ;) )

you must notify USCIS and add the baby's name on the benificiary's list. your wife won t be able to get a visa if the name is not on the list. i am certain of this. after marriage i prayed she won t be pregnant, i know its bad but we have planned it, due to the reason that if she is pregnant she will have additional steps to take. i hope you have started to find out what these steps are exactly. i think the uscis and india mumbai embassy site has more info..

i hope i am wrong ; nonetheless please find out what must happen due to her being pregnant.

The baby is a U.S. citizen, you have to file a report of foreign birth and get the baby a U.S. Passport. Nothing needs to be done with regards to the wife's visa application.
