I just registered. This is my first post. It's probably a silly question, but what do you guys mean by being touched? I have a pending I-129F application that was transferred to the CSC on March 8th and I havent heard anything since. When I call the customer service center, they dont disclose any information other than the information that I already know (that the application was sent to CSC on the 8th). Is there another way of getting more specifics on the application status?

They don't like to tell their operational procedures to callers because the caller wouldn't understand the process since their concern is to their own petitions not everyone else.

However, to answer the question put forth regarding touches, it is whenever USCIS updates the date listed on the USCIS case status page. It means someone have gone over your file at least. No other information can be inferred. In other words, there's a bar code on your file. Whenever that barcode is scanned, it provides the date on the case status page that your file has been looked at.

I read on one of the K1 threads that some people got their NOA2's through snail mail before the email showed up. I'm hoping that when those touches stopped they mailed our NOA2's. Those touches must be for something.

I am not sure if I clearly understand. When I check the status online I get the following information:

Is the above date and time the touch information you are referring to? This seems to be just just the time I checkd the status?

gotockogo1,

Yes. That is a touch. It can be a status change, or nothing at all. But, it does mean that the barcode on your folder at the service center was scanned.

consolemaster-

It looks like we have approximately the same application dates. My I-797C (Notice of Action) was dated Feb 26,2007. On March 8th, the I-129F was sent to CSC. I am getting close to the 60 day mark. What sucks is that my wife is 4 months pregant and if we dont get the approval soon she wont be able to travel (I believe airlines wont let pregnant women travel after their 6th month of pregancy. I am sweating bullets and this anticipation (or lack of action) is drivng me crazy. It is so hard to keep my focus and concentration at work!!!

I didnt realize how inefficient our government was until going through this process

When are you estimating that you will get yours approved?

My estimates is if not this week, early next week. Check with the airline at what point will they permit a pregnant woman to board. Some will allow, and some will not. Also, after your wife receive her K-3 visa, it also allows for renewal if in the case that the pregnancy will forbid her to board planes. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks consolemaster for your advise.

Is your estimate a gut feeling or is it based off patterns that you are seeing/hearing on this board? I wish I had the same optimism as you. I guess I dont want to have immediate expectations or else I might set myself up for dissapointment and might have a depressing week.

The estimates is from reading this board. It's from members within the past who've waited for their approval. I know, the apprehension is very hard to deal with. You are also at the CSC which is known to be longer than VSC. But, many who filed at CSC have also been known to be approved within the same processing times as VSC. I know for sure that you will not need to wait longer than 90 days, since most cases from CSC are approved within that period.

Most will let pregnant women fly right up until the last weeks, for US based airlines, here's a good chart:

http://www.babycenter.com/general/6976.html

I hope things work out for you, we were also hoping my wife would get here before the baby was born, but it looks like we we won't make it so I'm heading over in about two weeks to be there for the birth in Uganda.

If the data and time on the bottom of the case status is the "touch" time, my case has been "touched" 4 times today. As you said earlier, it might not mean anything, but at least it gives me some hope.

This is driving me crazy!!!

Thanks for your support. I needed to communicate with someone about this. It feels therapuetic
