Did you and your spouse get tested for AIDS before marriage?

i had had them prior, but not for the purpose of our relationship. we dicussed our past..and i had just got out of a marriage, and he had just traveled so he had just had testing done. ive been tested twice since we got married for purposes of foriegn visas. fun fun. and hes been tested a few times we all good

They are saying you can get HPV through kissing and oral sex, as well as through intercourse, and that the oral HPV has been linked to throat cancer (I believe that was in a thread in this forum, if I'm not mistaken.)

I was tested for all STD's when I was pregnant in the UK, then again when I came home and was still pregnant, they made me retest every damn thing because they felt like it, as well as have a pap test at 7 months pregnant (was not thrilled ). and as part of the visa medical procedure of course.

Err incidentally, I'm not allowed to give blood in the USA ever (indefinitely), as last time I was tried I was told no deal because I lived in the UK for over 6 months. I could be a mad coo!

I know shortly after we started dating we discussed getting tests, so I went and got screened for STDs, HIV, the whole nine yards. I'll have to do it again for my medical as well, so it'll be twice in two years. I should pester him about getting it done.

Unfortunately I can't give blood, since I'm too tiny - I'd do it, but Canadian Blood Services requires donors to be at least 110 pounds.

We were both tested in Peru as that is the procedure for civil weddings in that country. She was also tested again as part of the medical for the CR-1 visa.

We were both tested before we met. And since meeting we get tested regularly. It makes us both feel better by not having any doubt about our individual staus or what we may be exposing the other to.

I am guessing that she will have to be tested during her medical exam. I've never been tested. I guess that if she wanted me to, I would as well.

My husband was tested as part of the K-1 visa process, but I've never been tested directly. My ex-bf was tested at some point and was clean and my husband's test came out clean. So, I'm more or less clean by proxy. *shrugs*

My husband was as a part of his K3 medical. I was tested when I was pregnant but not recently.

We got tested the day after I flew into Tanzania (2nd trip). Condoms are no fun. And we're going to get tested again as soon as he gets here, whether he likes it or not. I've tried my best to explain to him that it's not a trust issue, it's just common sense for us to do it.

Just curious how many peeps got an AIDS test before getting hitched.

We both did, long before the medical. We felt that the complete new start should be just that with no worries or fears. It also means that there is one less thing to worry about at the medical, not that I particularly had cause to worry you understand - I couldn't imagine not getting tested and then finding out something like that as my visa arrives.

Totally personal choice, the above are our reasons and not in any way a comment or criticism of anyone else's views.

We did 'cus it's a requirement to get a marriage license here in Puerto Rico. They do a genereal STD blood work before issuing the license, and then once they get the license and exams back to you you have 10 days to get married or you need to re-test.

But I did it twice anwyay since I came on a K1.
