I honestly was just replying to a comment that a person said where they think people who are past their 3 or 5 year requirement are possibly processed faster than those who file early in the 90 day window.

That has about the same factual basis as reading tea leaves or overturned coffee cups.  Some people would do and say anything to pass the time.

I got my interview letter yesterday, the USCIS office mentioned in my letter is 3 hrs (driving time) away from my home address. I live in NJ but the USCIS office where I am supposed to go for interview, is in NY. Is this normal?

Enter your zip code into https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices and see if the field office that comes up matches the one where your interview has been scheduled.

Each USCIS office has jurisdiction over a set area.

We live in northern Michigan and our field office is Detroit, nearly 3 hours away. We went there for the interview and have to go all the way back for the oath. The IO at the interview said we might be able to have the oath in Grand Rapids which is closer and where we did biometrics but nope. We're going back to Detroit. It's obviously worth it but still annoying. I guess it's the norm.

Not necessarily. I filed same office as them but 2 and a half weeks later and I’ve had my green card for 14 years this month and I’m still waiting for my interview to be scheduled.

How do you add tickerfactory to your timeline??? Just saw it on yours.

Another minor interview tip: as you are under oath and all, you are only to answer by "yes" or "no" on the background questions. One one of them I answered "I do", and was reminded to only use yes or no!

My interviewer was all business, very little chit-chat if any at all. We were done in ten minutes, but I am older, long-time GC holder. Interviewer had my ancient GC application stuff in front of him, and I saw some really old-school yellow triplicate carbon copies!

Thanks, Seabird! Good to know. I get nervous with people that are all business like that! Congrats!

I received a letter in the mail today from Senator John Cornyn's office. In it they gave me the response to the expedite request I had made through them to USCIS, and, as expected, USCIS denied that expedite attempt also.

But at least I tried, and that's all I can do.

I still hope to hear something around July-August, if information and timelines I've picked from other months' threads here are accurate.

So you can’t schedule an info pass when you already have an appointment at USCIS for an interview the week after.

My attempts to get an appointment have failed, so my 1 year extension letter will expire Monday one week before my interview.

Will I be in trouble if I don’t get a stamp on the 23rd and wait for the interview to ask for one?

I don't think so it is the factor. You can schedule infopass year around if there is a slot available. You are absolutely fine and you have to show your GC on the day of your interview if being asked.

Cleveland has pretty much every slot open every day. I've tried multiple slots and it always says "You have already scheduled an appointment."

My only appointment is the week after for my N400 interview. Looks like they don't allow you to have multiple appointments so close together.

I won't lose status for not getting stamped right?

Hi there, you can schedule an infopass after your interview. You don't need to worry about your status, my friend. You are a permanent resident with a pending ROC. The good thing is that you might not need the I-551 stamp after your interview. In most cases, if you have pending ROC with naturalization the IO will approve your I-751 on the day of your interview or might take few days. By law, they have to adjudicate ROC before naturalization is approved. You will not lose your status if you don't have that extension stamp, regards.
