Shell,

Thanks for that insight. Does that mean I dont need to hold my breath until June at the earliest since thats when my GC expires? Thank you. Happy Easter🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼

Well there are many variables. I honestly don't know what happens with a pending ROC as this never use to be the case when it was adjudicated in a timely manner. However, I should imagine when you file a joint application then when they transfer the N400 they would also transfer your ROC case, unless they have already approved it.  I doubt they would want to interview you for ROC then N400, although most people don't get interviewed any way. So, I have to look at it from the point of view from USCIS. If you were USCIS and had a joint petition it would make more sense to send the files together wouldnt it?  Some N400 find that when they get there the ROC has already been adjudicated and approved before the N400 interview is carried out. I have seen some people who have arrived and then the I0 has realised there is also a pending ROC which has been approved there and then.

If your card expires in June, then the chances are that a month before that date an interview letter might be sent. Dependent on how you filed and where you filed that is.  I can't be 100 percent sure that your ROC might not be approved before that date as its something that even the USCIS aren't used too with joint filing but something that is more and more common with these ridiculously long processing times of late. Sorry wish I could answer that question. I guess we can all look out for whats going on with joint filings to see if there is a pattern. :)

Mine was saying Feb 2019. I don't think those estimated dates are accurate

They are not accurate with this nor ROC, but if we think logically about this, it saves them getting complaints and service requests.  Method in their madness and a cop out for taking responsibility and ownership of the long waiting times for ROC and such!

When did your green card get issued?

As far as attending your interview before your ROC is approved ans before your 3-year anniversary, I’ve seen it happen. There is no “standard” with USCIS. Just be happy they scheduled your interview, that means it’s moving forward regardless of your ROC or GC date!

May 24, 2018 - Oath Ceremony

I can't wait to see my interview letter.

To everyone who is waiting. I promise you we all in here know what its like to wait we all know what its like to log in every 30 minutes to see if the case has moved. Just know this the ones who their case moved forward feel your pain.

Here is the little I know.

My Gc was March 30 2015

I did early file paper application was sent and received on Jan 5th when i got my finger prints appointment it was jan 25th and waited waited and waited. On march 30 my case status changed to interview scheduled. I haven't left the USA since i came here no problems with law. I think they wait until its after your 3 or 5 mark with some exceptions..

Some info for N-400 people that are also waiting for ROC:

I went and had an infopass appointment on the 28th to get a new stamp on my passport, since I'm still ROC and also waiting for N-400, and they only gave me a 6 month stamp back in September. The officer told me that despite online saying that my ROC case is at my local office, it is in fact still in California just sitting somewhere.

He also told me that I should get my interview in the next 1 to 4 months, and that since both cases are processing at the same time, they'll do a joint interview, and have to approve my ROC first to move forward with the N-400. For the ROC interview part, the officer told me that my wife needs to be present.

Hope this helps someone.

My interview is on the 30th of April, but my extension letter expires on the 23rd? Should I go up before the 23rd to get a stamp, or am I able to wait and get a stamp on the 30th?

Do we need to do the infopass at my local office (Cleveland) or can I got o the closer office (Detroit)?

You can get the stamp anytime before your naturalization interview although it is not required.

we had the interview yesterday and my husband passed!  I posted in the Detroit filers thread with details.  Their system went down yesterday, causing delays, so we have to wait for the oath ceremony to be scheduled. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and supporting one another through this process!  :)

congrats!!

How long did the whole thing took if you tell us? They say in interview letter to expect 2 hours, was it like that? I am trying to figure out if I take the day off or plan on taking few hours since I have to be with kids. Thanks.

I have similar situation as yours. Interview on April 16 and ROC extension expires April 9. However, I was not able to book infopass after my interview was scheduled. The system rejected me as it does not allow 2 appointments.  so I cannot stamp my passport.

You can try scheduling as see if it works.

Good luck!
