N-400 January 2018 Filers

Hello guys,

Anybody knows how long does it take until you get the bio letter in mail? I got the date online since 16th but have not seen the letter yet.

You should have it by February, most likely. For online filers it seems to show up with 10 days of applying.

Hi Everyone!

Adding my case. Submitted online on Tuesday (figured submitting it on a federal holiday would be useless, so didn't submit it
on 1/15). I have already received the electronic message that bio were scheduled, waiting eagerly for the letter to be posted. 
I was hoping to see someone with an interview scheduled, but it does not look like anyone has yet... Good luck!

*I dont know how to chose Rich Text Editor, sorry!

Little early for interviews just yet, though it would be nice.

In my case I can't be naturalised until April anyway, since I used all of my 90 early filing days.

Hopefully one or two of us will hear something by the end of February.

My date is April too! I did see a couple of filers here that are earlier. Most of us seem to have applied on the first days of the 90-day window.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed! Seeing interviews scheduled gives me an idea of how long it might take.

Online/IOE applications don't seem to use the normal N-400 processing dates that USCIS publishes for field offices. The processing time is related, certainly, but IOE filing seems to bypass or skip through some stages much faster than traditional paper applications do.

My date is in April too! Hope we all get interview scheduled soon!

My status changed to biometric scheduled on Saturday morning 1/20 but no pdf upload yet. I’m guessing it’ll show up Monday or Tuesday since that seems to be the timeline with my NOA. I have yet to receive the paper copy of the NOA either.

Hello everyone, I'm finally applying for my citizenship.  I sent my online application on friday night so I'm expecting the bio letter tomorrow.

Hi All,

My 90 day window opened today for N-400. I am just wondering if I should wait until I get my taxes done for 2017 before I submit the application online, or can I go back and submit the missing documents later ( planning on doing online application)

I don't think you need to submit the 2017 taxes as "missing documents" if you file now since technically your window has opened and tax filings aren't due as yet (and wont be for the next few months). As long as you have your taxes for the last 3 years (which is their requirement in case you're applying based on marriage) i think you'll be fine. Worst case you can take them with you at the interview. That's what i plan on doing.

Unless I'm wrong and we're somehow supposed to submit the 2017 taxes too

Thank you for the reply ZeeQ. You never know what to expect with USCIS, Especially the office that services the los angels area, a lot of delays and wait comparing to other centers. I would like to know if going back to USCIS website and submitting more documents online is an option ? ( if you already filed online can you please check if you have the option to upload more documents ?)

That is true, you never know with USCIS. Unfortunately I filed in a paper application so I can't check for you. I do think that you probably can't upload additional documents after submitting the form, unless you get an RFE asking for them

You can upload files after the fact but there's a disclaimer that says that USCIS wont necessarily pay attention to those files and it may not affect the process.
