N-400 January 2018 Filers

Hi everyone,

 

Just wanted to share my interview experience that happened today.

 

The interviewer was very nice and even cracked a few jokes. Helped me correct a few minor things on my application (it seems to me that most people's apps have some info that's screwed up). Didn't have to take out any documents that I took with me besides the usual (PR card, Driver's license and Passport). Everything else had been uploaded earlier so he had his copies.

 

It took a total of about 20-25 mins and I was recommended for approval and am in line for my Oath now.

 

 

Here are the questions that I was asked:

 

What is supreme law of the land?

 

What is an amendment?

 

What is this state’s capital?

 

Who vetoes bills?

 

Who did the United States fight in World War II?

 

What is one promise you make when you become a United States Citizen?

It's obviously an unofficial app since there is no official USCIS app. There are several others too, but this is the one I like the most.

Thanks..i tried it but the near by case feature does not work for me...

The "analyze nearby case" feature in the app is hit and miss, though that's not the feature I was talking about. That just tries to give an instant snapshot of cases near yours, but is extremely unreliable. 

 

Instead, the feature I'm taking about is found under Settings -> Similar Case Notifications. You should also enable Case Status Notifications at the bottom of the same menu. 

 

I've received about four notifications this past week showing similar cases moving forward. It indicates the country of citizenship for the filer, as well as the old and new status, and the date of change. I suspect it's the app itself pushing these updates from other people who are also using the app, since there would be no way to get the country of origin from a USCIS receipt number, and the app specifically asks you for that info.

What service center to put in? Since it's filed office processing the case not service center.

This is when I try to add my case. It doesn't have these 2 options. it only allows me to choose Chicago, Dallas, Nebraska. Phoenix, Texas, etc

Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.
Cashd: Date your check was cashed / credit card was charged by USCIS.
NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.
Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview

Mine is showing the same thing. I guess it has happened to many people today. It must be a system error.
