I-130 January 2018 Filers

I got my RFE letter today...apparently I didn't send my original signed copy of the I-130 (just the signature page). I could have sworn I did!

That was the only thing they asked for, but should I send anything else? My husband sent me photos of his I-130A (meaning photos not physical signature) when we originally sent in the petition, could I get a second RFE for that? Or, are they only concerned about me as the petitioner? :/ I just want to avoid anymore set backs, thanks.

So we received our NOA2 back in July 26th. Does anyone know what we should be doing while we wait for NVC? I know there are further documents we need to get a-hold of. Wife has her certified copy of her birth certificate, as well as her marriage certificate. I understand she also needs police reports from Philippines AND Thailand (Wife lives in Thailand, where she works as an English teacher, but is from Philippines)

Should we get started on getting her Police reports for Philippines and Thailand? Or should we wait to hear back from the NVC??? I'm worried about how long it takes to get that paperwork sent to you.

Yes! Start with the police report now. My husband got his done last week and he is waiting on the report. You can use your  approval notice for evidence as to why you need a police certificate. (  My lawyer told us that)  so when we hear from NVC the only thing left to do is pay the fees medical and interview.

What approval notice? The NOA2 form?

So now we have logged in and paid both the bills a few days ago. It's cleared and I need to fill out ds 260. I've filled it all out and saved it for now as I am waiting for my new passport to be delivered in the post (hopefully within the next few days)

I also need to apply for a police certificate. Does anyone know if I can apply for it in maiden name so that I don't have to wait until my passport gets here to apply for it? I don't have an identification with my married name on it, hence why I'm asking

Thanks :)

I believe you get the police report using your maiden name.  My wife used her maiden name and not her married name.  Are your other documents using your maiden name or married name?

The application and my new passport will be in my married name.

I figured that if I get a police certificate in my maiden name, obviously on my marriage certificate it shows the name change so it should be ok?

My application is in my married name but all my ID, including passport is in my maiden name.  I did my police certificate in my maiden name because that's what it says on my passport.  It's totally fine that way.  The information on the I-130 has listed both my maiden and married name, so its ok.
