Hello fellow January filers,

I have received my mom's hard copy of NOA2 approval today (approval date July 19th). However my dad's case is still pending with USCIS. I did everything same for both of them in terms of paperwork, still I wonder what went wrong :(  Should I call them to check what's going on? If so, what is the number to call them? Please advice. Thanks!

So I checked the USCIS times... and it seems like the Citizen sponsoring spouse visas are a few weeks behind the LPRs sponsoring spouses.

Are those timelines accurate? Because according to USCIS receipt date for inquiry is November 15. Does that mean that they are only currently working on cases from NOVEMBER?

Also... why are Citizen sponsored spouses lagging so far behind L PR?

According to my VJ timeline...it says I should be expecting NOA2 from now until the 29th of July.

I know it can take up to 8 weeks AFTER they receive my petition. I'm trying to call them so I know when they get my petition so I can start calling on week 7.

I'm posting my updates for the time frame of approval to sent to DoS (NVC) to petition received so that others have an idea of how long it can take based off of my progress.

I think I have the same problem as you have been having.

I logged into my USCIS account and now it doesn't say anything and I received an email saying "we are working on your case" even though I've had my approval notice in the post. Is that what's happened to you too?

Update:

So I received an email yesterday from USCIS stating that they have sent an RFE for my dad's application. I have not received hard copy of RFE yet to find out what documentation they need.

Any idea on how long will it take to them approve if I submit RFE documentation by end of this week? (Hoping to get mail in a day or two)

Right now I'm trying to log into my.uscis.gov and I keep getting errors "500 Error We're sorry, something went wrong. The page you are looking for may not exist or is temporarily unavailable. To help you find what you are looking for, try: uscis.gov" I tried on my phone and I am getting the same error.

After I try logging into gov.uscis.gov (old site) and use my cse number,  I still get "My Cases Validation Error(s) You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding: You are attempting to add a receipt number that does not exist in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. The My Cases page is your primary tool to manage all of your applications and petitions. You can use the My Cases page to add, remove, or check the status of your applications and petitions. Additionally, you can turn on or off email and mobile alerts."

On July 12th (15 days after approval) I got an email stating this "We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time. We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on June 28, 2018. " Site still stated that I was approved on the 28th even though hard copy states the 28th.

On July 18th (20 days after approval) email stating "We have taken an action on your case. Sign in to your account to view your case status "  Checked website it said it was sent to NVC.

I-130 CR1 Timeline  Visa has been issued!!!!!! = ^.^= YAY!

Sounds similar, although I haven't had any errors or have been unable to log in.

I did, however receive the exact same email saying that they were still reviewing my case, in a panic I logged into my USCIS account and all my information had disappeared (including the approval) all that was their was the part saying they received my case on Jan 12th.

I have logged in this morning and my information is their again, including approval. Possibly they were experiencing technical pronlems.

I'll probably leave it a couple of weeks and then call to see if NVC have received my case. I saw on the NVC wiki advice page to call once a week once it is sent o the NVC to check on it. After 2-3 weeks, call 2-3 times a week to check up on it. I haven't called at all yet and it has been 16 days since my application was sent to the department of state.
