I don't think so, I was following some Nov and Dec cases earlier and the approval time seemed to be random. Although I noticed some cases with fast approval also applied for K3 visa (i did too). It could be possible that the officers started to work on K3 and then pulled out the I130. I got the notice for both on the same day.

I guess it doesn't hurt to call USCIS, esp if you have a valid reason for getting the visa faster.

Good luck !

Thank you for the support and information! Immigration is random! I noticed that people’s that are from china get it faster, I think that the country influences too!

Would seem the common denominator between both cases with early approval is that their spouse is from China. (Right? That’s what it seems from their profiles) I would wonder if the files are separated by country when they come in. And countries with better ties to America get first attention. 🤔 hmmm

We are also a Chinese-American marriage, priority date Jan 18th. We only have NOA1 so far.

For our fellow Chinese-American couples:

Would anyone be interested to start a WeChat or Whatsapp group to share specific information for I-130's related to China? We most certainly have questions to ask and would also be will to share any experience that we have had so far. Please respond and we can get started.

I think it is just luck on how they are pulled! The delays for us will be once the cases are transferred to NVC as all of the Cuban cases are backed up due to the multiple changes in embassies for the interviews.

So? You mean that the delay is mostly on the Visa center? Not now waiting for the No2? Uff!

For Cuba, I think we may see delays once we get to the NVC part of the process yes.  NOA2 will hopefully stay in line with all other countries. I know many people that have recently had interviews in Guyana with NOA dates of November, so we are definitely getting close to the NOA2

Hello All - another update.  I received confirmation of payment received from NVC after 2 days.

My case is being processed at the NVC electronically.  I was given NVC case number and invoice number via email.  I was also given a link to the CEAC website.   It stands for Consular Electronic Application Center.  Thru this link - I entered my NVC case number, invoice number and link to pay the fees.

After my payment cleared - I had to scan and upload my documents.  Which included Wife's Birth certificate, our  Marriage certificate, Her Police report from China, a copy of her Passport Biography page, and passport photos, my 2017 tax report and affidavit of support.  All of my wife's documents were in Chinese and certified English translation.

I also had to electronically fill out DS-260 which was basically the same as the original I-130.  It was many of the same questions and answers.  it took about 10 minutes to fill out online.

Everything has been uploaded and submitted to the NVC.   On the website - it states that the NVC will process with the scanned and uploaded copies of the documents - but my wife HAS to bring the original documents to her interview.  The consular office in China will NOT accept copies.

I will not have to mail anything to the NVC - my case will be done electronically.

I will update again after approval of documents and next steps from NVC.

So far no word.... its getting close! Some petitons have been approved from Jan 2nd, like 4 out of the 400 petitions that I scaned today. (not all of them were i-130's)

Husband was asking if we schedule our own interviews since we are planning on having me fly there for American Christmas, we are just hoping that the interview can be around then as well. And I had to explain to him once more the process. I have told him to check VJ out, but his mind is somewhere else.

To the best of my knowledge I have not come across any information that suggests one is able to schedule their own interview date.

That would frustrate me if my wife was not involved in understanding the process.  This is such an immense process it is going to take us both to execute it successfully.  She has come onto Visa Journey a couple times but begins to get a little flustered with the English.  She speaks English very well but does not read and write so well.  So when she starts seeing the more complex words and legal jargon and acronyms she gets a little anxious.

English is my husband’s 3rd language, I know he gets semi confused with all this like it did for me a few years back.  Got to read a little at a time. But I guess I'm charge of his immigration papers till now and his citizenship and if any kids come here, theirs too.   I have been trying to get my husband for the last 2 months to connect the lawyer I found to get some paper work that we might need since I think we might get a RFE on one of his divorce certificates. I even connected the lawyer and they told me that my husband needs to talk to them with all his details, also this lawyer can get the police certificate from the country he used to live in, and hopefully can get the right document from the right government agency for us. Our case is.... complicated, I do feel sorry for the officers that get our petition. The country where he was born in was USSR, then it turned into Ukraine, and in 2014 Russia took over it, claimed it theirs, and he got a newpassport for Russia, he’s been married and divorced in that area, and the USA government only accepts documents from Ukraine.I'm  just glad he has no overstay visas or has done anything illegal to that we know of.

He lost his 1st divorce certificate long ago, but this ex-wife photo copied her copy for us to use, which has her name on it for who the document was issued for, and now need or might need one with his name for it..... Even if the USA government accepts it with her name as issued from....He's internalpassport does state when he was divorce from her and when it was registered  he needs one that states his name, and if we get a RFE i think it would be for this reason, didn't find this out till April 2018... As much as I would love to tell my husband to listen to me next time when I'm asking for documents.... I don't want a RFE for this issue. And I guess I know more about Russian / Ukraine divorce laws than my husband does and he's been divorced 2 times. =\

But he knows if the government gives us a RFE, he HAS to work on it the next day after we figure out what we need. He knows a month after the approval he should start getting his police certificates, since I guess in Russia it take a month.

My guess for Canadains is about 5-6 after NOA2, assuming no check lists. If you get a case complete before the mid point of the month, then you'll have a good change for your interview being about 45 days away.  Please keep in mind this is what I have seen with that threads that are talking about them waiting for an interview, with in this subforum of the forums on VJ.This is just looking at recent people having an upcoming interivew in Canada. Just keep in mind some people have had their petitions expideted, or just the luck of the drawl.  Someone from Russia that applied 2 months after me is already at the NVC stage.

This is the CR1's for Canada with interivews listedby the soonest.
