The wife threw out what she thought was a cheap magazine. But it was "Story works", the kid's homework, with questions and answers inside. 

Went out to fish it out of the trash, but the garbage had been picked up overnight.....

Got my DNA results from one of those big companies - I'm apparently a lot more British than I thought.  The Dane's Danishness must have rubbed off on me too, because that is my next biggest group.  

 

Not at all the expected results, I should have been like 25% British, 25% Irish, 50% Western European.  Instead, I'm like mostly British and Scandinavian.

 

My DNA matched one of my close paternal relatives, so that isn't the reason.

They had another girl, turning 1 soon. 

Husband left wife 8 months pregnant. 

Still owes a lot of people money. 

Pays 200 a month child support. 

Wife has 4 kids to feed. 

Husband has never seen his daughter. 

She's working as hairdresser.

Did you guys miss me?

 

I am way more exhausted after the family vacation. Especially because I just can't stand my brother, the more I get to know him, the less I respect or tolerate him. He is incredibly selfish and all about his pleasure and what serves him, misogynistic, (Called me a ''feminazi'' just because I frowned upon the fact that he keeps the pictures and videos of his ''conquests'' on his phone and they very visibly pop up when he charges his phone on my mom's Mac, traumatizing me. He mentioned he likes his women with no makeup, he wants them ''naturally pretty'' Mostly refers to women he is attracted to by their body parts,  He is rude, 2 out of 3 words he says is a curse word, he is beyond loud, uncultured, (brags about hot having read a book in his kife, thinks art and classical music are stupid) Amongst other things. He is about to turn 29,  by the way, so not a teenager. 

I have to bite my tongue and stop myself from telling him everything I think of him, just because I don't want my parents to suffer. They continue to have this fantasy that we will magically get along, when we literally have nothing in common besides genes. I also have to deal with the resentment,  how they've spoiled him rotten and continue to do so,  which further enables his behavior.

But he is not my kid and not my responsibility, so the best I can do is to not get involved. It makes me feel guilty, but part of the reason I'm excited about moving to the U.S is getting away from that toxic dynamic. I love my parents, I know they're human and make mistakes like we all do, but they really dropped the ball with my brother. 

 

It was also a nightmare keeping up with eating as right as I could even though I slipped,  and I did try to exercise using the hotel's gyms while on the road. ugh. 

Today's gym session sucked because I definitely lost some progress, but I'll recover eventually. I have my weight in on Thursday and I hope it shows less weight and not more!

 

On better news: immigration wise, we got our scan date!  February 9th.  Hopefully it won't take much longer than 5-6 weeks so we can start the painful wait for an interview date.

I am going to do as much as I humanly can to get an earlier date, but I know my efforts might be futile. I'm just so exhausted from all of this and I can't wait to be with my husband.

You have to do what you have to do to stay sane. I know that's mine and my wife's attitude towards my brothers and sisters.
