Well that didn't go as planned on my bleached hair.  My roots look good, but my bleached parts and inching towards pink.  Eww.

 

Guess I'm going auburn tomorrow instead.

Dark hair is just so hard to do colours with. 

 

My older girl tried a purple she went to a salon that was good doing all sorts of wild colours. Since her hair is even darker then mind it didn't completely work perfectly. It was still good but we could tell it did go as planned.

My purple hair looked fabulous, I'm kind of regretting switching it now, but I can't switch it back because I had an allergic contact reaction to the bleach.  If all my hair were still dark, my red would have been fine, it is meant to lift color.

 

I might send the Dane to sally beauty tomorrow and pick up some red dye and 10 developer to try and layer the red to build it up.    Shoulda known better than to use a box red with light hair.

Years ago, story man:

Mrs. T-B., already in Ecu, called us for a crucial errand before our departure for Ecu, call we she man.

Mrs. T-B.:  "Can you go to Sally Beauty Supply and get me a ponytail?  [hurt voice]  Mine got damaged."

 

Sadly, we agreed, sigh man.

We entered this completely alien place and stopped just inside, in bewildered uncertainty.

Clerk:  "May I help you, sir?"

T-B. [uncertainly]:  "Can you please direct us to the... uh, Ponytail Department?"

Clerk pointed us to pegboard on the wall, Ponytail Department man.

Fortunately, Mrs. T-B. had given us the precise make/model/VIN numbers for the desired ponytail, relief for we man.

We got out of there fast, reclaim our male status man.

Postscript, P.S. man:  Ponytail was duly hand-delivered, undamaged, to a grateful Mrs. T-B., she man.

I came back to reading like two years ago

I read mostly romances, erotica or something like that. Sometime a biography or something.

I'm already on 7th book this year

that's awesome though! I've finished two, and I'm working on another three but two are science books, and all in English so it takes me a little longer  but love it 

I miss having a book club, I used to be in one that we'd watch a movie and read the book, then had a reunion to discuss both, like a potluck. I miss it so much

I read a lot. On average, two or three books a week. My Grandmother once referred to me as a 'print junkie and a book drunk". No bad thing

 

 

I don't read fiction on the whole but do like Neville Shute, and Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I am a fan of Erik Larsen and Bill Bryson. Bryson's I'm a Stranger Here Myself and Notes From A Small Island are good choices. His last effort, The Road to Little Dribbling wasn't as good, I didn't think, as his earlier efforts.  Simon Winchester is very good as well, I particularly enjoyed A Crack at the Edge of the World.

 

I read History at Uni, and it's probably my favourite sort of book still.

 

I like real books over the electronic version. I have got a Kindle app to read the ones that are out of print, or that I can't get for love nor money in any other format.  I guess I prefer to turn real pages, rather than swipe.

 

I re-read the favourites many times. I've got a couple of books where the pages are getting very loose from wear. Mind, I've lugged them around the planet for ages.  Just finished reading Lady Veronica Lucan's effort to set the record straight, as she saw it.  She's the lady whose Husband is believed to have killed their nanny, mistaking her in the dark for his Wife, in the middle of a custody battle and threatening bankruptcy. He's not been seen since that night in 1974, although sighted practically everywhere, like Elvis. She struck me as just a little bit mad, in the way that many British peers are. Probably not something I would read again.
