A BLONDE'S FOOD DIARY

MONDAY:  It's fun to cook for Sam.  Today I made angel-food cake.  The recipe said to beat 2x2x2+2+2 eggs separately.  The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls.

TUESDAY:  Sam wanted fruit salad for dinner.  The recipe said serve without dressing.  So I didn't dress.  What a surprise when Sam brought a friend home for dinner.

WEDNESDAY:  A good day for rice.  The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice.  It seemed kinda of silly but I took a bath.  I can't say that it improved the rice any.

THURSDAY:  Today Sam asked for salad again.  I tried a new recipe.  It said prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving.  Sam was so surprised when he came home and saw me jumping on our bed with the lettuce.

FRIDAY:  I found an easy recipe for cookies.  It said put all ingredients in bowl and beat it.  There must have been something wrong with this recipe.  When I got back, everything was the same as when I left.

SATURDAY:  Sam did the shopping today and brought home a chicken.  He asked me to dress it for Sunday (oh boy).  For some reason Sam keeps counting to 2x2x2+2.

SUNDAY:  Sam's folks came to dinner.  I wanted to serve roast.  All I could find was hamburger.  Suddenly I had a flash of genius.  I put the hamburger in the oven and set the controls for roast. It still came out hamburger, much to my disappointment.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY.  This has been a very exciting week.  I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Sam.  If we could just get a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with Chocolate Moose.

Ok, how do you write an eval for an intern who thought he knew everything, and argued more than he learned? 

 

It's easy to tell the truth, but difficult to make reality sound better than the truth...

I started a book challenge, at least finish 30 books this year. I'm Currently reading:

Astrophysics for people in a hurry, American Gods, and Your brain is a time machine.

 

Any recommendations? I'm open to any style. 

I'm reading all my books in English.

That's the point of an eval, tell the truth. Sugarcoating it wont teach him anything. He'll make the same mistake till some one thumps him upside the head. Better now at an eval than later when he's actively trying to find a job and cant figure out what's the problem. 

You can dress it up a bit by saying he was very motivated and eager but needs to learn to be more open to critisism.

OK, I really busted into this topic for this one here. Books. 

I Love American Gods. It's awesome. 

Some titles I can recommend:

- Thinking fast and slow, by Daniel Kahneman. A very popularly but well written scientific book on the art of making decisions. Brilliant read.

- A short history of nearly everything, by Bill Bryson. Kinda as the titel says. History from the moment of creation till now in a short, fun and entertaining book.

- A brief history of time, by Stephen Hawkins. Popular science book on cosmology with wonderful examples and easy to understand.

- The Dresden files, by Jim Butcher. A series of contemporary fantasy novels about Harry Dresden, wizard and P.I.

I'm pretty sure that satan invented blowdrying to torment women.  I usually only do it 3 times a year and each time I feel like I've been put in some sort of horror movie in which there is no happy ending.  My hair looks poofy and I hate the sound of blowdrying, it makes me cringe.

 

But... at least now I can go from my purple hair to red hair.  I'm kind of digging the bleached out faint turquoise that is going on at the moment, but the Dane has made it very clearly that he abhors blonde hair on me.

LOL, you shouldn't use one on wet hair.  I have to wait for it to dry first.

 

Plus, I'm not a fan of using it right before I dye again because it smooshes the hair together.

No comments about our largely excellent Saturday, hmmmph man.

Fortunately, we thrive on rejection, whoopee man.

 

Did not leave casa on Sunday except to de-curbside leaves, rake we man.

The minimum Many laundry loads were the max that we could handle, tired of it man.

Napped with cat, we and miu zzz man.
