05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Kids are sick, big and small. I'm still sick but I think the worse may be over. Keeping my fingers crossed as being asthmatic this can change fast. My ribs hurt from coughing, I'm hoping the kids don't get sick as bad as me.

Sitting at urgent care for a cat bite.  To be honest I'm mostly annoyed that the owner laughed at me for her cat biting me.  She did warn us he was an angry cat and I got the feeling he would try to bite me, but dont laugh!

Fence guy coming tomorrow, in fact, two of them, for quotes. I've been out there ten times in the last two days picking up the hot pink tape they tied around the stakes. There are two big dumb labs living around here somewhere who roam, and they keep pulling the tape off and trying to bury it.

I will be delighted to be able to open the door and let the dog go. Tired as she is of all this leash nonsense.

Hope poorly folk are feeling better, cat bites were minor, fences get fixed and lots of pre owned toilet seat  are sold...

I'd like to be asleep.  

 

 

We've been buying some of the supplies for my mother's new house with our cards for various reasons.  My mother had pre-planned this and told me to just use the ATM to reimburse ourselves with cash from her local bank account.

 

The withdrawal limit is like $200 a day....I'm going to have to go back there every day for weeks.  :girlwerewolf2xn:

 

And, it is all because of this local bank account.  I'm on her other bank account and can easily transfer money between the two.
