The Rant of Our Discontent

This has been a day.  Screaming and grumpy toddler, who I of course had to take out to the local market.  He keeps trying to run off the whole time, then out the door and into the street.  I ended up carrying his 40 or so lb chunky butt and the littlest one in the björn.  The market didn't even have any meat because they are putting in a new fridge, so I could only buy cod, lots of cod.  Bonus is that they had a giant barrel of seed potatoes, so I got some to plant.  Oldest child was thoroughly unhelpful and contributed to the mayhem.

 

And I still need the Dane to pick me up nori, ground pork, and goat milk in bigger town.

 

We need proper grocery delivery out here.

Mrs. T-B. picked up the microwave from the correct Home Despot, temporary surmounting of ADD she man.

Handymen picked up gas range from Sears Home Appliance, traumatic to Mrs. T-B. man.

Both appliances reportedly installed in r-casa, inspect with our own eyes this eve man.

On Tues. eve, followed coworkerette to retrieve recently used moving-boxes, generous she man.

(Mrs. T-B. needs to evacuate our kitchen before imminent remodeling, 2 weeks of mayhem man.)

 

After errand, drove miles out of the way to nearest Chinese buffet, no din-din at casa man.

Ingested Many native Chinese Many (2+2) plates heaped with pepper steak, get money's worth we man.

Did not upset our stomach to speak of, mission successful man.

 

Later, at casa, read 2 nonfiction books to help Mini-B. complete a reading-list for skool, read we with wee man.

One book about giraffes and one about sharks, the long and the sharp of it man.

Then gave Mini-B. a bath with fragrant adult shampoo, aromatic wee man.

1.  The Dane retrieved several pounds of ground pork for me, so all is well in MN now.

2.  The market was somewhat recently bought out by an out of towner.  He changed some of the selections and the Dane informed me that there were certain older folk in town upset at the loss of pickled herring in the deli section.  Personally, I don't think that is a loss.  The cod was nicely packaged in regular old zip loc bags.  You won't find them doing that at Walmart.

3.  There is delivery in the bigger town and I see Walmart is going to start grocery pickup there next week.  The meat at  Walmart is always weird, though.  Our market does deliver, but it is a service that is for the elderly/disabled.

Rant of today:  Hyacinth itch.  I didn't know that was a thing, but it is.

The snow came so early last year I didn't get my bulbs in the ground, so since they sprouted, I thought I'd chance putting them in now.

I shouldn't have done that.

I had no idea what caused it so I had to run in and shower and change the kids clothes, etc.  Showering was the right move according to dr. google, so was benadryl, but I'm still itchy.

Out-checked the r-casa this eve, see we man.

Handymen finished and did a very nice job, si men.

This included surprisingly thorough cleanup, including the garage, surprised we man.

Debris even separated into regular garbage vs. recycling, details man.

We will use these guys (Jose & Carlos) again, si men.

 

On Thurs., Lupita comes to deep-clean, clean deeply she man.

Later, Urbano will finish the painting, paint he man.

Later, Celso will finish the plumbing, plumb he man.

 

Mrs. T-B. has done a marvelous job working the Spanish newspapers and her contacts to find the best/cheapest people, credit she man.

It sure beats paying full-priced gringos, as we would have to do, monolingual we man.

And Jose & Carlos even messaged Mrs. T-B. to say how pleasant she is to work for, congenial she man.

Mrs. T-B. is probably still our final wife*, at least for now, she man.

Anyway. I'm happy to report that all the real estate transactions have gone as planned. My last day at work will be May 18 and a replacement has already been found (they got lucky AF).  We are moving to the country and we are going to eat a lot of peaches!!
