We have this problem only with dermatologists, I don't know why.  If a derm leaves the office, the Dane has to go back to the PCP get a referral for his eczema again, see the derm, and all just to get a really simple script for a steroid cream.

Some of the other offices want us to call and check to make sure we don't need a referral, but our MN insurance doesn't require it.  I think a lot of the ND plans might (which is where we go tot he doc).

The Dane is only 32, but we are exhausted with 3.  The older two are killing us; the oldest is super sensitive and the middle one is "spirited".  I'm not sure how people handle more kids, maybe they don't have the ones who have screaming fits all day or still cry at school all the time when they are in 3rd grade?  We're old parents for around here anyway, most have their 3 or 4 in close succession in their early to mid 20s.

Yeah it is really dumb to say the least when I called a office and tried to set up a appt and the office worker was like "The doctor WILL NOT see you without a referral" even after I confirmed that I don't need one and told her that. I pay a premium for higher insurance so I can do the self referral, because I usually use the VA for my PCP and I don't want to wait 1-2 months for a appt.

Yeah we have 4 kids in the house, 3 girls(11, 4, 1) and my son(9), like I said before the older 2 are from my x-wife and the younger 2 are from my wife now but I have custody of the older 2. We are able to handle 4 kids because in the Filipino way the older kids help take care of the younger ones and they do chores around the house, even though my 2 older kids are not Filipino at all we are still raising them up like that. So my 11 year old helps bathe and clothe the 4 year old, she also helps change the 1 year old. While my son helps do basic chores around the house and my 11 year old helps wash the dishes.

A little bit of an exaggeration, but multiple ones a day, especially after he wakes up.  When he's not doing that, he's getting into trouble.  :jest:  He'll be 3 shortly and I've just been able to take him to the store this week without a leash and/or needing to extricate him from the floor and throw him over my shoulder.

The baby is the easiest of the 3 so far.

You are a better parent than me because that wouldn't fly in my house with having to extricate him from the floor.

But it was funny because my 1 year old finally figured out how to use a cup and turn on the water from the refrigerator, she has only been trying for 2 weeks na. My wife went into the kitchen and saw a puddle of water around my soaking wet daughter. She saw Mommy and decided that now would be a good time to run away.

<sigh>

Poor Dutch is a eunuch now :(...

Lol. I can't believe how minor it is compared to something like having a c-section.

Punishments don't work on him, so it is just a matter of constant corrections. I think it is a Danish child thing. I was kind of horrified the way they ran wild over there - climbing on top of vending machines at the mall, doing whatever dangerous stuff they wanted elsewhere, etc. Now I've got one and he is just like them. It is embarrassing at times, but it must be something they breed for in the Danish population.

Haha 😂 toddlers and kitchens are always a special kind of fun.

HAHAHAHA. My wife probably will agree with you there because she helped raise 3 Danish/Faroese boys when she worked in Qatar. She was a nanny for a Danish/Faroese family and her employer worked at Maersk. So she is well aware of Danish children.

There was a Japanese emperor, he was looking for a new samurai for a body guard...

3 samurais tried out for the job.

The first samurai tosses an orange in the air, draws his sword "hayak!" And the orange lands in 16 even slices...

The emperor, not too impressed, asked the second samurai what he can do.

The samurai tosses a kiwi in the air, "asaka!" The kiwi lands peeled, and in 32 even slices...

The emperor, "wow"...

He turns to the third samurai, how are you gonna top that?

The samurai uncovers a tea pot, a small fly flies out, "hai...ya!". The fly continues to fly away...

The emperor says, "you miss!"

Third samurai,

"hai! But he'll never #### again!"

We don't need a referral either for specialist but try to get an appointment for one without one is nuts.

The older 4 combined where less trouble then the Tornado she is also a spirited girl. My family says what do you expect when you mix that Canadian blood with American :P I don't think the Hillbilly has any Dutch in him, I know he's mentioned German, Irish. The Jedi is so mellow compared to her. When she was 2 she was very much like your little guy, 3 was worse so be prepared. She's much better now but still has her days where I want to rip my hair out. I have never ever experienced such a strong willed child like this one. I tell you one thing I sure wouldn't have had 6 kids if I had her first
