Rant, grrrr man:

Gas co. is charging us a $Many ($2x2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2) "reconnection" fee just to switch the rental casa's service back into our name, grrrRRRR man.  "We do this every time, $i man," is their rationale, rip-off man.

Electric co. has no low-usage plans for rental casas, grrrRRRR man.

Going to have to search on our own, grrrr man.

Our utilities are locally owned so no choice here.  Why complicate it?  We actually have a back up power plant in town.

 

My dad got scammed by one of those alternative electric companies that offered initially lower rates than the standard one for the state.  Then, they went variably super high and ended up in the thousands every month.

Variable rates suck, yuck man.  For our regular casa, it's fixed rates only, firm believer we man.

Just up-signed the r-casa on a month-to-month plan that shouldn't exceed Many cents/kWh, reasonable man.

After remodeling, we hope that we can get tenants soon, rent soon hope we man.

New York's murder rate is pretty low, even for an American city.  The police and former mayor did a fabulous job cleaning up the city.

It reminds me of the child rape rings that went on forever in the Northern part of the UK with the government doing almost nothing about it.

I remember reading something about some being caught and haven't read anything recently about more attacks but the media moves on quickly so it could still be a thing?

Received a reach out from a recruiter last week which was kind of cool. Not your typical recruiter who is just looking for resumes so that they can place joe schmoe in a job and collect a commission. This was a recruiter who works in a different state for a state agency that is analogous to the one I work for in NM. Wow, a state agency actually employs a person to find better qualified people than you can get from your standard Indeed.com ad. How novel!

 

Anyway... I haven't been looking for a change of job nor a change of location but it's nice that someone can look at my Linkedin profile and see someone who they'd like to interview. It was easy to apply online so I guess we'll see what happens.

I actually sat my two older kids down after my daughter got punched in the stomach by a boy and I told them that "I do not want you to start a fight at all, but if you get hit or punched then you damn well better hit back". My daughter tried to be like "well then I will get in trouble", and I told her  "If you get in trouble for defending yourself I will deal with it at that point in time".

I didn't post the back story I was trying to deal with it. The 7 kids were mostly all boys. As soon as those kids got back to school it started right back up. We spoke to the principle seems he told us he would have an assembly talking about making better choices. It never happened. 

We made a police report and the Officer said she has had to write up a few reports concerning that school. She feels the schools lack of action is some of the problem and the more ppl report to the superintendent.

Oh and when I mentioned to the police officer how the principle told us he had to get special permission to suspend the kids. She looked confused and said unless something changed really recently that she has never hear of that.

The Dane borrowed my car today.  He got a big rock chip in my windshield.  Then, he wanted me to take care of getting it fixed.
