That sounds similar to MN's law. The older one just quit the booster at 9 because it was too hard to fit in the back with two ther car seats and I didn't want to bother with an inflatable one.

Very few people follow it, though. I constantly see young kids in the front seat.

Law terminology is tricky to read, and easily misinterpreted.....

You have to pay attention to words such as "Over", "Under", "Greater than", "may" etc....

Most states, the law is 4'9" or be 8. For whatever seat you can fit them in.

Except smaller kids, they have to use the manufacturers suggested weight class.

In regards to scooters, here's a typical family in NYC.....

I am surprised how many kids when the Tornado was in kindergarten where in the front seat. Half of them didn't even get buckled in.

Oh yes the law is so weirdly worded. Here the Tornado can be out of her booster seat already. I don't think she would sit properly if she was out so we kept her in it. Heck we just recently took her out of the 5 point harness.

Law terms has to/ must be written like that to be definitive, in every aspect of the law.

Ages, amounts, contracts, estates, etc...

I can cite examples all day.

What is a juvenile delinquent?

What is a youthful offender?

What is a juvenile offender?

What is a Grand larceny?

What is a petit larceny?

What is a felony? Misdemeanor?

"Under 16"

"Under 17, and..."

"Over 17, and..."

"1000 dollars or more"

"Under 1000 dollars"

"Punishable by 1 year or more in prison"

"Punishable by up to 364 days in jail"

See what I mean?

I'm chugging along, thanks for asking.

I also discovered today, that I really can't retire in NJ, because the stupid tax law on  pensions excludes me!

If your pension + other income is over 100K, you lose the entire exemption (vs pay tax on amount over 100K). FFS...

My mother has been complaining about retirement taxes and Medicare for months.  🤔  She is thinking Florida now because it is income tax free.

We gave MIL a tablet computer for Christmas (she gave nothing to anyone), it stopped working so I got the receipt out so it can be returned, the cheeky mare complained because we didn't pay full price (it was on offer)

You penny-pinching red coat, how dare you buy that poor little old lady a discounted tablet!

You go replace it right now! With a full price item!

I know, we should be ashamed...

They replaced it with a new one, she is still grumbling that the new receipt shows the price we paid - the discount instead of the current price 🙄

I have set it up for & put her favorite picture of her as the home screen wallpaper

I put my favorite picture of her looking like the wicked witch as her lock screen wallpaper 😂
