This mayor is a retard.

I've heard. But you are the Dad, so  I think you trump the mayor.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

102 mph winds in NC...

Wow. Getting worse than earlier, then. Looks like there has been quite a bit of flooding too.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

It's a bit breezy here too!

Hope you stay safe.

Turtle is cute :)

The UK is funny when it snows, North of the Watford gap is used to snow and not much changes, South and everything stops, my mum has about 3" and is talking like the world stopped turning 😂

Eldest step daughter has apparently been waging an internet war with some unpleasant people, we have had the police at ours today looking for her - she doesn't even live here and was most put out that we are not happy with her *sigh*

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

I've been giggling about their response to the light dusting of snow and the "terribly cold" temperatures.  People might run out of gas at 30°F out, call the whaaaaaammbulance.  Here they'd just put on a sweater.  Everyone is out walking and being lively now that it has approached freezing temps in Minnesota.  ^_^

Every winter in the south as soon as it gets closer  to 0° there are news specials advising how to survive...a single flake of snow and Armageddon 😂

In the Midlands we got a couple of feet of snow most years & it was just an annoyance, it's almost embarrassing to admit I grew up in the southeast 🤣

102 mph winds in NC...

That's gotta be the velocity of maximum wind gusts. Sustained 102 mph winds would blow everything down. I grew up in Wyoming so I know a little about wind, but I was shocked upon moving to New Mexico. I encountered sustained winds of 60-70 mph outside of Tucumcari in Eastern NM in 2014 and I've never seen anything like it. I passed 2 different semi truck trailers that had been blown over onto their sides. Driving through winds that strong literally sucks the gasoline out of every automobile on the highway. People were stopping at abandoned gas stations in tiny towns hoping and praying that they were open. I was able to eke out enough gas to make it to a larger town which had a service station. Upon opening my truck door the wind ripped it out of my hand and slammed it against one of those concrete pylons. That dent cost me $1,200 to repair.

Bottom line, if you have to drive through huge sustained winds, make sure you have a full tank of gas, park in the head on direction of the wind if you need to stop, and be careful of vehicles with high centers of gravity.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it works out :(

I think sometimes the weather guys lose their minds a little. The trouble with the hype is, once people hear that enough, and nothing much happens, they stop listening.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
