Okay I went to the social security office today to have my name changed to my married as is on my GC and they said they cannot verify my alien status so I have to wait 4 weeks while they verify if my GC is real basically :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: . What on earth is that about? Computers can be slow but not that d a m n slow :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: . Anyone else with such experience? Im going tomorrow to have my DL changed coz in TN ne can ony get a Driving Certificate NOT VALID FOR ID :protest: :protest: :protest: unless you are a PR or citizen which I wasnt when it was time to renew it. I hope I dont go thru the same non sense with computers not communicating. :protest: :protest: :protest: :protest: :whistle: :whistle: :whistle:

Sorry to hear about your bad experience at SSA.

We actually waited for more than a month before we went to the SSA to:

1. Have the notation on my SS card removed; and

2. Get an SSN for my 14 y.o. son.

Sometimes it takes time for the system that SSA uses to check immigration status to update. When that happens, they are supposed to wait two weeks for the update and then send in a manual verification if it doesn't happen. Hope your new SS card gets processed quickly.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

01/17/09: Applied for US Passport and passport card

01/28/09: Received US Passport

01/29/09: Received US passport card

01/29/09: Received naturalization certificate back from passport office
