ANyone do an IR-1 through Manila? I have a friend in CDO that wants to come back to the U.S. and bring his wife. If you can give me assistance on what he needs it would be greatly appreciated.

Even though, DCF is not available in the Philippines, he should contact the US embassy to see if they will accept DCF. If not, he'll have to file I-130 at one of four service centers (depending where the US citizen's home is). He'll have to prove his domicile in the US.

I had just finished doing an CR-1 visa/petition for my wife here in Manila. You have to be a permanent resident here in the Philippines for them to allow you to file here. I got everything done and got the visa for my wife in 6 months. :) hope this helps.

Hi Kim! That's right...and he must have documents from the immigration stating that he is a permanent resident here in the philippines. Re: affidavit of support - i just got a joint sponsor. And i made sure that I had received a job offer from the US before the US interview. That really helped a lot!!!

I am thinking that maybe it would be better if my friend gets the permanent residence status and and then try to do the CR-1. I think the K-3 is now up over a year so he might actually be able to get the CR-1 done quicker even if he has to wait 6 months. It all gives me a headache
