Hi all,

I've made a big overlook on my part:

  • Sent in I-751 in 04/2017 for removing 2-year condition
  • Received Biometrics letter 06/09/17
  • Completed Biometrics on 6/28/17

All this time I thought the Biometric letter WAS the extension letter until right now when I searched up in your forum. SO I NEVER RECEIVED THE NOA1 - the extension letter which is supposed to come before the Biometrics Letter and my 2-year GC expired on 8/5/2017. Right now is 1/1/2018.

WHAT DO I DO? Some of you guys say that I can have an Infopass stamp on my passport to act as an extension. But what documents do I need to bring if I never received the NOA1 letter in the first place? And I don't plan to travel internationally until I get my 10-year GC?

May 2017: ROC package sent

6/3/17: Check cashed by USCIS

6/9/17: Biometrics Notice sent

6/28/17: Biometrics Appointment completed

***NEVER RECEIVED THE NOA1 - Extension letter for another year (probably got lost in the mail or USCIS  never sent it by mistake?!)

2/13/18 at 11:10AM: Infopass appointment schedule to have 1-year stamp on birth country passport

Reminder: to file for N-400 form starting from 5/15/18 and onward as 90 days before 3-year anniversary

Try sending an e-request under "Notice I did not receive":

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do

It might take some time though. If that doesn't help then you will have to call or make an info pass appointment.

I tried to do that but failed because the I don't have the Type Number & Case Number. How do I make an Infopass appointment? Thanks so much for your speedy reply <3

Hi there,

I just sent over the E-request. They said I should have a reply by 1/30/17. It's too long, I think I'll be better off making an Infopass appointment and get my passport stamped? Esp since my passport will be expired in April 2018.

Question to everyone: what documents do I need to bring to get them stamped my passport? Please advise.

  • 3 weeks later...

Thank you so much @WeGuyGal! Good news is I finally successfully scheduled Infopass appointment after 30 days of trying to logging into the website right at midnight to get the available spot: FEB 13, 2018 :D

Quick question, I plan to say something along the line of "I never received my extension letter in the mail for 1-year but I received my biometrics letter and already completed my biometrics in June last year. Please stamp my passport to give me legal status of 1 more year?" Would that suffice? This is my first time dealing with such a specific problem like this so I just want to know the right way to ask for help.

@Conditional2018: I received a reply back from CSC on 1/22/18 which was absolutely no help. They never said anything about my Extension letter got lost in the mail (or they forgot to send it), just that my processing time is well within normal.

"The status of this service request is:

On January 8, 2018, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-751 to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

The processing of your Form I-751 is within our current processing time. Please see our Web site at www.uscis.gov for processing times.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience."
