Also on the I-131... I am filing because my husband has a proposed business trip to Canada in April which is right near my family so we would like to visit them at the same time.

Part 7 of the I-131 says On a separate sheet of paper, explain how you qualify for an Advance Parole Document... etc.. What do I do for this? I thought to qualify it has to be an emergency, but it seems other people are getting the travel visas without having an emergency?

Maybe I'm confused and I actually need to select 1a in Part 2 'Application Type'.

1.a. is applying for a reentry permit if I am a permanent resident or conditional resident?  Is that correct... am I a conditional resident? argh... lol.

Most don't fill that section out at all and get approved from what I have read. Don't quote me on that. I did not file for AP because I feel I do not need it and can wait for the GC.

You don't need to have an emergency to qualify for an AP, the reason you stated is enough for it. I don't think you need a separate sheet of paper, you can make use of the space that's made available on the form.

Any December filers haven’t hear back from USCIS yet? Filed on Dec 27th, USCIS received on Jan 2nd, check cashed on Jan 11th, but still no NOA... We didn’t file the form to let USCIS send you notifications via text and email but the NOA should be in the mail by now.

Yeah don't worry about it yet. :) It took ours a week to come.

Guys help. Got our NoA 1 today but a rejection notice for my i765! It says that I didn’t pay the fee for it! The last I checked with the i485 instructions is that if I submitted for employment authorization and advance parole at the same time I didn’t need to pay any extra fees. What is going on?

That is a weird one. I am not sure why you would get that. Did you get your NOA1 hard copy for the AOS. If so refile the I-765 with a copy of the NOA1 from AOS showing that you applied for AOS and try again. But you could also try calling but as we know if you don't get a tier 2 person its pretty much pointless. :( Hopefully you can get it sorted. Maybe someone else who already has done AOS has more of a view on this one. Maybe post this question in the main AOS forum asking?

After a little mishap on my filing fees I resubmitted my AOS - package arrived at Chicago Lockbox on January 10th, and I got text notifications around midnight on January 16th. Still waiting on hard copy notifications and for the case status to be available online.

Best of luck to everyone! Hoping for a smooth process :)

HI everyone! I need your comment please...

I mailed out the documents on 1/10 by USPS and still showing "transit to Chicago" when I track it. When I call the bank, cheque has not been cash out yet....

My wife K1 visa will be expiring on 2/8 and I am afraid she will need to leave the country if this doesn't get to USCIS on time.

What should I do?

Maybe call USPS with your tracking number and ask for delivery information.
