Thank you for your help, my package was received at the Lockbox on Jan 8th.

I just saw on my bank account, they cashed just the 2 checks needed ($535 and $1225), does it mean they accepted my package and are just sending me back the extra check?

from the link you sent me it seems that sometimes they send you back the check with no pb or they reject the entire package, but since they cashed the 2 other checks Im assuming they accepted my application. Right? I will email them tomorrow 1st thing.

Thank you

I thought the total due was $1225, because there are no fees for the I-131 and I-765 when filing the AOS. Is that incorrect?

Do I have to include the I-639 with our application packet of I-485?

Yes you can submit it with your AOS package. Also you are submit it in the following way posted on the USCIS:

If you are applying for adjustment of status, you may submit Form I-693 in one of the following ways:

  • Submit Form I-693 by mail, together with your Form I-485, Application to Register for Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to the location specified for your Form I-485 (see “Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-485”).
  • Submit Form I-693 by mail, after filing your Form I-485, to the location specified in your most recent communication with USCIS (for example, a Request for Evidence letter from USCIS).
  • Submit Form I-693 in person, at an interview in a USCIS field office (if an interview is required).

Hey everyone!

I have just spent 9 hours straight researching and gathering all the documents to send off our AOS the end of this week. I have done my best to push AOS to the back of my mind until i actually needed to file it, hence spending 9 hours glued to my laptop and printer. :D

I've got 3 neat piles of paperwork, all i need to do is get my passport pictures done and then it's done, PHEW!

I'd appreciate if someone could proof check my checklist just to make sure i haven't missed anything :)

Form I-485 Adjustment of Status packet and supporting documents:
  1. Payment in the amount of $1,225 (Filing fee + Biometrics fee)

  2. Form G-1145
  3. Form I-485
  4. Copy of I-797, Notice of Approval for I-129F Petition
  5. Certified copy of marriage certificate
  6. Copy of birth certificate
  7. Copy of Vaccination Documentation Worksheet, Form DS-3025
  8. Copy of biographic page of passport
  9. Copy of K1 Visa passport page

  10. Form I-94
  11. 2 passport size photos

  12. Joint apartment lease

  13. Joint bank account
  14. Form I-864, Affidavit of Support along with:
       - Employment letter
       - Six most recent paystubs
       - IRS tax transcripts from 2016
       - Biographic page of passport of the petitioner
       - Copy of birth certificate of the petitioner

Form I-765 Application for Employment Authorization packet and supporting documents:
  1. Form G-1145
  2. Form I-765
  3. Copy of biographic page of passport
  4. Copy of K1 Visa page and Form I-94
  5. Copy of marriage certificate
  6. 2 passport size photos

Form I-131 Advanced Parole packet and supporting documents:
  1. Form G-1145
  2. Form I-131
  3. Copy of biographic page of passport
  4. Copy of K1 Visa page

  5. I-94
  6. Copy of marriage certificate
  7. 2 passport size photos

I know its not required to put photocopy's of the marriage license/passport pages in each pack but i know how USCIS like to lose things so i just made a couple more copies of them just in case.

Anyway, I've noticed a few familiar faces in here which is a comfort, I'm glad to be continuing the journey with you guys! :D

You may want a translation of your birth certificate if it’s hand written. We got an RFIE requesting a translation from English to English because of this.

I remember seeing you have that problem and was thinking 'ah i really hope that doesn't happen to me'. Before i left the UK i requested the long version of my birth certificate so it's not hand written like the original one i was given at birth. So fingers crossed they don't make that stupid request!

USCIS received our application on Friday, we sent through FedEx, and we just received our Acceptance Confirmation emails and texts! Our case "has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing." I looked that up, and it would seem that it is the Missouri Service Center. Is that standard?
