It’s weird sometimes that you get cases scheduled for an Interview or approved with PDs that do not reflect the “first come first serve” goal they often talk about. I know of a January filer with interview date already whereas there still October, November and December filers without interview dates yet. Well, such is life and we’ve just gotta keep waiting

Yeah I don't mind people from OTHER offices who filed later and get it earlier.
I was just irritated about this one case, because it was our office. And from a B2 and a country which isn't an easy one, lets say it like this.
So my orderly stuff properly coming from K1 was sitting there a month longer, but oh well. Maybe my folder serves well as a coffee coaster :)

But hey, it's been 8 months now... something should happen "soon"! :)

@pajobra Congrats on the new job! :)
I feel you regarding the car. I have one as well, and my first 1,5 months of paychecks went straight to the car shop for replacing the entire clutch, which broke 4 weeks after we bought it :D

Thanks. I am super excited. It is something new that I have not done before. I had 3 interviews to get it and they waited a month for me to get SSN sorted so they musta wanted me. Hope I can meet their expectations. Well hopefully I won't have to do that. LOL The bank where my husband and I bank told me, when I was opening up my account and changing my name on the joint one that she figured I qualified for a personal loan from them since even though I was a no credit person, I had a really good job. She told me that a month into my job to come in and we can see if I can get one. That would be ideal because the rate would be cheaper anyway to pay back then a car place loan I would think. I do have an inheritance from my grandfather passing coming in January so I can pay off the loan in full then anyway. I still have a credit card I am paying down from Canada as well as my taxes from last  year. I am so glad that once I pay that off I am done with the Canada Revenue Agency until we move back to Canada sometime in the future. I really wish credit could transfer over since my credit is good bordering on excellent in Canada. lol

Mine in Germany was very good as well, but no one cares here. I have a loan to finish paying there, too. Plus a dental procedure coming up here, which is 5 digits on the bill. Yet I'm procrastinating it, to recover from all expenses we had so far. One thing at a time.

You'll do fine! At least you have a job now. One thing less to worry.

FIVE DIGITS. I have been to the dentist 4 times now this year for one tooth removal, 3 fillings and a cleaning. Paid 250 for everything. We have fabulous insurance through my husbands work. I will be working at the same place he does so luckily I won't have to pay for insurance since I am already under his so I can keep more of my paycheque. But yeah one thing at a time for sure. My husband has a few medical bills we need to pay off but they are not too bad. :)

We are going bowling with friends tonight and then to a pizza and games night after. :) Looking forward to that. A few weeks ago I went for a pedicure with a couple of gal friends. :) So I am making friends which helps tremendously.

Yeah, a crown broke off, and that holds a bridge, so I'll have to have the entire thing redone. Sucks ###. At least my dentist will be happy ;)
I don't need my benefits from work either, since I'm covered through marriage. It's a good insurance, but they don't cover big things like that. Unfortunately.

What happened to your job at the library? I thought you said you have chances of getting hired?

Unfortunately there were no openings when I was finally available. I have a commitment of a year with the company I am with but I may like it (I can quit but would never be hired again however if I do a whole year with them and move on somewhere else and want to come back in a few years I could likely) and stay if not I will apply for a job at the library if one comes open. The job I am doing now is second shift and I can not change to an earlier shift until I have done a full year. lol

Hello everyone! This is not visa related.😅 I would like to ask if it’s nice to call or email the company you had interview with, after the given time they said you will hear something from them or the result.

Hey everyone! Big news today so just wanted throw an update in. Green card interview notice FINALLY came in the mail this morning, thank God!!! So excited to be getting closer. NOA1 was 01/19.....EAD/AP was approved on 5/31 so today makes it about 2 months later. Interview appointment is marked 08/27 so about 1 month from now. After EAD came i moved on to focusing on job efforts and getting "LIFE' started but id be lying if I said I wasn't still holding out hope for putting that green card approval behind me ASAP. lol

Hope everyone is getting along ok. My best advice is to try to just fill your time with living your new life as fully as possible if you got your EAD. The letter will come when it comes.....

A question to those who already had their interviews: How long did it take to receive a letter in mail after your status got updated "We scheduled for interview?". Thank you!

You can absolutely call. They gave you a date in which you were supposed to hear from them.....you can call if that time has past.
