Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let say that I traveled outside the USA with my advance parole and had no problems coming back. You just have to go through secondary inspection but everything went well. Only brought passport and EAD

In regards to my AOS, no news yet. I applied the first week of January from California and I haven't received any notifications.

Congrats to everyone who already got their interview date.

I am going out of the country soon so can I ask how the secondary inspection looked like i.e. what questions they asked etc ?

Hi Martella,

State College, I lived there too! haha. Penn State?

For the secondary inspection, they did not ask me anything. They just needed to double check my documents on a computer. Keep in mind that it does take around an hour to get through the inspection.

As long as you have applied for everything properly and in time, you should not have issues.

Good luck!

Thank you! Wow, an hour? Good that I gave myself an adequate time between flights.
My husband works at Penn State... and I guess everything revolves around Penn State in State College ...but I like nature and State Parks around here.

Yes, it will take around an hour if not more so definitely give yourself some time in between. You can also mention it to the officer that will take you through the second inspection, it might help...

Good luck!

Quick question for my fellow January AOS filers regarding photographs.....

Did you take actual photos to the interview or did you print them on paper (like 2 or 3 to a page)?

Does it matter how the photos are presented?

Thanks in advance for the input.

Just trying to get my ducks in a row 😉

So I took some actual photos from the wedding to the interview and the officer didn't care about them, because I had already sent them in paper with my AOS package.

However, he was very happy to take the FB collage in paper I had prepared covering the time after the wedding till the moment of the interview. So paper is fine :)

I did what @Estibaliz did, and they were perfectly fine with it! Paper prints are good enough! :)

Hi!
So I had my green card interview today which I think went well, didn’t get asked too many questions just mostly asked to confirm information we had put on our application.  Now my question is, after we left I got a text saying my case was updated. For my i485 it’s saying “new card is being until produced” but it doesn’t say case has been approved or anything else? Did anyone else have this happen? I don’t want to assume it’s been approved and then find out it hasn’t lol

Definitely approved. Got my GC in the mail today, yayyyyy. Day 301, our application was received December 8, 2017. Took roughly 10 months, adjusted my status from F1 student and our field office was Washington DC.

good luck to everyone else, hope you get your cards soon!

Hey, how long it’s been since the “we are ready to schedule your form for an interview” email? I know it depends on the office but I’m curious, I just got that one and the EAD card one last week. I got an RFE that’s why it took that long for me...
