Was just checking lots of timelines and threads from past few years... I have a feeling that since Trump administration the wait time between biometrics and interview is getting much longer. For example, Los Angeles local office during most part of 2014-2016 only took about two to four months to schedule an interview, but during end of 2016 and entire 2017, the wait time is mostly over 4 months... maybe I’m missing something here but has anyone else notice this?

I noticed that too! Matter of fact the lawyer said the same thing that usually aos takes abt 4 months depending on case but since 2017 its been taking up to 8 months!

Thanks for all the support here! Just like a rollercoaster, my mail is finally delivered!

Wishing all the Jan filers get what we wish here!

Glad it did! Now the wait process begins and yes this whole process can be very stressful with many ups and downs but we're here for each other!

Good luck 🤞🤞

The government shutdown does not affect uscis at least that's what I've read.

Just checked USCIS homepage, they are saying government shutdown won’t affect fee based services... and we do pay them a lot... so hopefully everything goes fast!!!

They probably cut the local USCIS office funding or maybe simply because of all the drama that puts on everyday...

That is really good to read. My checks were cashed today. Hopefully I get my permission to work before July when my OPT expires. I'm not really worried about the interview, that can that its time.

Uscis is not affected by the government shut down because it is funded by the fees it generates.

Im curious what if uscis needs to interact with another government agency that is affected by the shutdown?

P.S. seems like senators have gathered enough votes to end the shutdown.

Congrats! As soon as you step into the country, you can file your I-485, EAD and AP. It costs $1140 plus 85 dollars for biometrics fees. it is not up to $1800 to file it. Its a total of $1,225

Wrong information  ! “As soon as you Step into the country you can file your I-485”

when an applicant arrives in the US with a K1 Visa , they have to get marry with in 90 days.

after they got married they can apply for AOS.

Not as soon as they step into the US.

Thanks for explaining it out explicitly. I assume that she would be getting married as soon as she steps into the country, which makes my point that she can file it as soon as she steps into the country objective and not wrong. However, your explanation leaves no room for confusion..
