I-134 or I-864 for Vietnam US embassy?

Hi All,

 

We just received our NOA2 approval on the I-129f form submitted to USCIS :).  Now I'm working working on the I-134 Affidavit of Support, but looking on Vietnam US Embassy website, I see it shows the I-864 form?  What form should I use?

There is no I-184, and none mentioned in that. I think you mean I-864.

 

For a K-1, you use the I-134.

That's the immigrant visa (IV) packet. The K-1 is technically a non-immigrant visa (processed by the immigrant visa unit). If it came directly from them to you, then they likely used a generic template for anything sent out by the IV unit.

 

You should be using this instead:

I864 is after you have a k1 visa in hand and are trying to adjust your status to apply for a green card.  USE i134 for k1 visa (when filing 129f form)
