I was in the same situation as both of you. I got my case # on January 19th and submitted my DS-261 on the 29th. I called the NVC and they gave the same explanation. I just got the welcome letter today at 1AM Eastern Time and about five minutes later the AOS fee showed up in CEAC and I paid it (I logged in about 3 or 4 times in that five minutes before it showed up).

 

The wait is frustratingly slow, but it seems like the AOS fee really will not show up until you actually get the welcome letter email. Now the wait begins for the IV fee to show up..

 

 

This is how things look now. The Affidavit of Support (AOS) section will appear once you get your welcome letter. The "PAY NOW" button under IV Fee is active, but when I click on it, nothing shows up. Once they review the DS-261, that should appear too.

 

 

You are right, i got an email from NVC too.

I paid the $120 fee by calling the NVC rep this morning, she reviewed  the DS-261 over the phone for me.

Scan date 12/28, as of this morning, documents has not been reviewed yet.  It will be officially five weeks tomorrow!

My scan date is 12/29, I also called yesterday and my documents hasn’t been reviewed too.. Seeing others get cc so fast makes me wonder if NVC is accurate like they do say “we review cases in the order they were received” . I’ve seen Jan scan dates get cc, as in eh - NVC process gives me a bewildered 😕 look.. 

I just pray we all get our cc soonest 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Guys I am so excited I just found out I got my CC!!!!

 

Checked my status online and it said At NVC. So I called and the lady I spoke to tells me my documents have been reviewed and that everything is good and that I have to wait for my interview date. She explained to me that my consulate has to send them a list of available interviews and then they schedule as many people as possible. She said I can either wait for the email to find out if my appointment has been set or I can call them to find out. Will definitely be calling. Lol

Guys don't lose faith God is sooooo good! Many people received CCs with SDs later than mine and I was so anxious calling them like crazy. But I kept telling myself USCIS already approved so just relax. Honestly I could never relax. This process is stressfull. Anyway just sharing my experience
