Hi all, any insight on this: we have been waiting 3 weeks for our case number to be assigned. I was told 2x in the past two weeks to call back the next day as it was likely to be assigned soon. Still nothing yet they assert it takes 2 weeks for a case number. Anyone else know why it would be taking so long to enter it into the system (it's a CEAC case) other than the holidays?

Yes, it can be as early as 2 weeks. However, some took 6 weeks for them to be assigned a number.

Ok so i have been calling NVC every day checking on our case SD 12-1-17.  I was told it went to review 1-2-18.  So tonight i told the lady that and she said what happened then is that the lady on 1-2-17 realized something was wrong since she didn't see the DS260.  She pushed it to a supervisor who retrieved our DS260 and put it with our file.  So i specifically asked the lady was our scan date 12-1-17 or 1-2-18 now since something was screwed up and she said the scan date would be 1-2-18.  Just wanted everyone to know so they can make sure they force the people to make sure they have the DS-260 and don't let them tell you otherwise.  I have called A LOT since 12-1-17 and had always been told they had everything so make sure you are VERY FIRM with them and make them check.

Yeah i knew there’s no waiting time for visa availability for spousal visa and you confirmed it to me thank you so much wish you the best of luck

There's no waiting time for visa availability for spousal visa, however, the US Embassy from where the beneficiary is may be full thus, you may have to wait for the earliest available appointment for interview which could take weeks or months :)

Hi all,

I paid my AOS fee last week and the status on CEAC shows paid and I paid my IV fee today. It is still in processing...Can I send my AOS and supporting documents package tomorrow? OR I need to wait until I fill out DS-260 form. Your suggestion will be appreciated.

This is a very important information. I called them yesterday too and the guy i spoke with was asking if i have submitted the DS-260. I told him i have since Dec. and he said he will submit it for supervisor review.  I was so mad.

The problem is i have been calling and none of them told me about it, they all keep saying it takes 11 weeks to review blah blah blah

It has been more than six weeks for us after the i130 approval, and when we called NVC it asked us to write an email to them, so they can contact USCIS to find out why they haven't received it yet.

Has anyone faced the same situation before, and can anyone tell how much time could it take from now onwards?

This happened to me but when they fixed it last week and they did tell me a week ago that our case was in the review department. I called them 2 days ago and asked specifically since the DS260 was messed up by not showing in their system if that pushes our review back. The lady put me on hold and came back and said no it doesn’t push you further back. Your documents are in the review department.

Plus I would argue with them about the scan date since it’s their computer glitch that is causing the DS260 not to show.
