Did your status change online and then you called?

First  you check status online (During CC status shows "AT NVC" and AOS disappeared). Then call NVC to confirm that document review is completed. They will also send you  email later on confirming that document review is completed.

Hello,

I got my interview exactly 1 week after my CC. I live in the US, so this was for my wife. Also, the email came between 1-2AM, I assume mid afternoon India time.

Hopefully that helps. if your CC is Jan 2, and assuming you are going to Delhi, it should be there in the next day or so. Also, it was about a month and half out from the time i got it.

Thank you so much for the info! I appreciate it.

Case approved!!

PD: 06/01/17

NOA2: 01/02/18 (215 days)

Center: Texas

No case status update online. Found out about it via letter in mail.

US Citizen

Approval notice states:

"The above petition has been approved.  As the petitioner requests, we have sent the petition to the US Dep.... NVC, 32 Rochester Ave, Portsmouth, NH.... The NVCprocesses approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action.  It also determines which consular post is the appropriate consulate to complete the visa processing.  The NVC will then forward the approved petition to that consulate.

The NVC will contact the beneficiary of this petition with further information about immigrant visa processing steps.

You should allow a minimum of 30 days for the US Department of State processing before contacting the NVC...."

Question: Does this mean the petition is now sent to NVC? Or is this standard reply? I am afraid Texas takes a long time to send petition to NVC. Does anyone know ways to expedite this process?

Hello!

I'm sorry to bring sort of bad news but the NOA2 does not mean your case is already with NVC. The notice of action is their standard communication action. Later you should receive another email informing you when was your case sent to NVC.

My case was approved mid October, but it took another month (mid November) for me to get the notification of it being sent to NVC. Now, this varies from Service Center to another. Back then all cases at TSC seemed to take a whole month to be sent to NVC. Then, for NVC, to start working on it (I.e. Assigning it a Case Number), it can take from 2 to 7 business days.

You can read on how to gain some time to your favor reading the guide for NVC stage in the first post of this thread. Basically: calling NVC every two days or so, yet I wouldn't start calling until I knew my case was sent from USCIS to NVC.

If you qualify for expedited processing, I would look for the extreme hardship reasons that NVC admits as valid. I'm not familiarized with it, but there are guides for it too.

Welcome to NVC stage!
