NVC instructs to send both the IV and AOS documents together in one envelope. You have to wait until both fees shows PAID in order to print the documents cover sheet from the payment portal. Once you do, you can send both. DS-260 can be done either before or after you sent the documents. However, the documents will NOT be reviewed unless DS-260 IS completed online.

I just received an email to submit DS 260 form but I have already submitted DS 260 form month before. Does anyone experience this type of situation? Should I write an email or contact them about this issue? Or is it normal email and just ignore it?

Thank You for help

Yeah that's my husband was told too. the lady was very nice and told him he could call every day and ask if he wanted. Based on peoples experience most of them have been getting their case number in like 10-14 days. so lets hope for the best

Indeed, I figured it wasn't *really* six weeks. Just scarred from my hellish wait on Nebraska. :)

I called and asked for the scan date. It is usually scanned into the system 2 to 4 days after they receive your package.

Try calling again and asking!

So it seems NVC received our package from Nebraska on 27 Dec but they still haven't assigned a case number. Is 27 Dec the scan date, or the day they assign a case#? All up a 2 week wait isn't that long so not a problem... they said we would get it by next week.

The day they received and scan your documents (AOS & IV package) is the scan date.

For now, just focus on getting a case number, go on the site and assign your agent, pay AOS fees and IV fees.

After that you can complete the DS-260 and send all the requested documents in ONE package then you can start thinking of SCAN date.

Goodluck :)

I see! Thanks for clearing that up! Hopefully we get the case# next week and can get the first step going. Luckily we can do everything else later online through CEAC so no need for mail from Australia! Hopefully that helps.

Hi:)

after filling out for ds-261, You need to pay some fees(AOS and then IV fee) this can take two days and up to a week for you To pay these fees. After that you can fill out for ds-260 and send the documents which are listed in the Welcome letter that was sent to you either by mail or email by the NVC.

Good Luck:)

Hi Vista, in a way I am happy don't have to do that as it would just take forever but maybe your mail is more reliable. We have friends and family that haven't received Christmas cards yet in the east coast from us and we sent them on the 13th. So will DHL it but will keep you in the loop as we are so close to each other's dates in the process. Hopefully in April we can both celebrate.
