People, it is exactly 6 days (3 working days) today since my interview my CEAC status just changed from "AP" to "Issued" :)

I think I am okay to now confidently say my visa is approved and have that long awaited happy dance :dancing::dancing::dance::dance:

I wish all waiting for interview dates to get a word soon on their dates and those attending interview soon all the best :yes:

Hello,I'm also from Jamaica and I'm currently waiting on my interview date to be set,what questions did they ask you,and did you have to pay any fees at the embassy?

She asked: Who is filling for me, how we met, where and when we met, if I've traveled outside Jamaica before (she went further asking me to say where I've traveled to), she asked how often I visit my wife and she visits. It was pretty straight forward questions you should know nothing out of the ordinary.

Since you are currently waiting on your interview date to be set then I would take it that you paid both AOS and IV fees already, thus you are not paying any other fees at the embassy. The only fees you would pay is for medical and if visa is issued, you will pay for your green card after you receive your passport with visa (instructions on that is on the first page of this topic and will also be provided to you when you receive your passport).

...do good and good will be done onto you...

My wife entered the US with a visa when she was 5 and exited when she was 18 years old and 5 months. She overstayed her visa. From what I understand we don't need an I-601 waiver because she did not stay a continuous 6 months past her 18th birthday. Please let me know if you know any different or have any suggestions when it comes to our interview in 2 months. She's been in Mexico for 6 years now.. (she wasn't deported)

I checked out status while at the airport today and it said last updated today, so I'm wondering if that's with the tracking info that was added.

It was too late to call so I'll try tomorrow.

I've seen on average its about 3 days later but since they had computer system problems recently it could take longer.

I would also post asking this in the regional forum, not as much traffic there but you might get a bigger audience specific to Mexico.

That should be a fun road trip !  We will be getting dropped off,  Los Angeles to San Diego...walking over the CBX bridge into the Tijuana Airport and then flying to Juarez.

We have family that will be hosting us there (Thank goodness !) We have the interview at 10:15 a.m. not so early and i doubt we will want to have breakfast before going in.  I pray for it goes well for him also, and your husband. I am praying we both get the packages by that Friday, I saw that they were having system problems last month and it delayed a lot of people here on VJ... let's also pray that is over with now !

@Laura-A.... Yes let us know ! :)

My stepdaughters interview is approaching soon. I’m the petitioner and unable to fly over with such short notice. Her uncle will escort her there. Should I email the embassy to ask for permission for him to attend? What’s the policy on this?

Are your step daughters minors? For minors they will require an adult to accompany them. The adult only need to have a valid Identification Card to present at the security check. Also you need to check with the Nigerian Consular website on guidelines for interviews and how the rules applies to accompanying a minor.

You may need to check with the immigrant visa interview at the U.S. Consulate Lagos website on guidelines for specific information on interviews and how the rules applies to accompanying a minor. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/LGS_Lagos.pdf (Page 4 - Accompanying persons).
