55% of American voters think poorly of the man.

No mention of it being a poll. Read the statement.

Well yes I agree the statement itself requires caveats since it's based on polling data.

I thought you were implying that a randomised poll of 1500 people is somehow not relevant because that's a small number compared to the US population.

Those familiar with US and UK polls should know that the level of accuracy is iffy to say the least and not that hard to skew the results to the answer you want depending how you phrase the question.

I have never ever been asked.

Not many people I know now have a landline, the lady in the Post Office does but only because the Post Office require it.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Oh ya that's another problem. How you write the question.

There are polls that skew both ways. That is why I like those charts of all polls conducted, with an average of them all combined. That helps a little bit to weed out the variability and small biases.

Polls will never be perfect though.

There was polling data used by professors from Old Dominion relative to were non-citizens voting in the last election.  A lengthy poll asked the person the citizenship question near the end.  By their calculation and extrapolation they estimated that almost 1 million voters in 2016 were non-citizens.  They stand by their results even though they have been attacked with the primary explanation being that folks lied as to the citizenship question either on purpose or inadvertently.  Not sure why the detractors would only speculate that folks would only lie one way about being a non-citizen voting, but it does raise some concerns.

Snopes calls it false, but they seemed to be more focused on Trump's assertion and not actually refuting the OD results.

This is funny. I literally just posted this study in the other thing which I think you referenced it in. I made some comments in there. It's more "on topic" for the other thread in my opinion.

Was gonna make the economy worse and start a nuclear war. Turned out to be the greatest President in modern history. Trump may take that honor at the rste he is winning

Reagan raised taxes eleven times and still bloated the national debt while real wages remained stagnant.  After claiming numerous times that he would never make deals with terrorists, he did just that.

At this point in his Presidency, Trump has, by far, the lowest job approval rating of any President since polling began.  The stuff of greatness!

Reagan was one of the worst presidents of all time.  What "greatest" refers to is one of the greatest con jobs in history;  that Reagan still has supporters out there who haven't got the wool out of their eyes after all these years.

They just traded the wool with all the Obama supporters.

I guess if Obama tripled the national debt and destroyed the middle class you might have a point. It  was Reagan who did that.

He didn’t?

The source also shows that Reagan did not triple the debt either, so I guess we are both wrong.
