We disagree then. I would never punish a child for the actions of his parents. I wouldn't see allowing the child to stay as a "reward", especially if it is the only life they have ever known or the one they have known during their developmental years (school age and beyond).

I only brought up DACA when you mentioned how people may agree with Trump more if they ignore his personality. This is a case where I don't agree with him (or you it seems). So even ignoring personality, I still disagree with Trump :)

It is what it is, and since DACA is a political football, why not use it for bargaining to help reduce illegal immigration which we both can agree is wrong?

Since we disagree on DACA's usefulness/appropriateness, I'm sure we'll disagree on this as well.

I don't think the lives of the children and young adults DACA impacts should be bargaining chips. By using something as a "bargaining chip" you are putting its future existence into question. Since I've already stated I believe it is a good program and should continue to exist, I  I don't support that. I don't think it should be brandished as something that we could get rid of if people don't agree. I feel the same way about things like withholding CHIP in order to get a better deal on the next budget. Children, whether they are "illegal" or not, deserve better than that.

The irony of all this "triggering" business is that the only people who ever seem to act "panicked" or "triggered" on these forums are not people I would lump into the "MDL".

I love the threads like this that tell everyone how hysterical or snowflaky "the left" ( which is now about 55 % of the US Population plus some solid Republicans) is on this topic or that, then we proceed to be snowflaked to death by the non-existent controversy.  It is quite funny to watch.

what is Ironic I counted 5 posts explaining just how not triggered the MDL was.  :o:jest:

How many threads are made about how "triggered" the MDL is with no triggering to be found?

You guys just like to hear yourself speak I guess. From my position in the middle it is quite obvious who is being triggered by whom. Quite hilarious actually.

We've actually had some interesting discussion in this thread, surprisingly. Unsurprisingly though, you were no where to be found.

When one has nothing to say, one says it in a meme I guess ;)

too many words?

The funny thing is the meme with Einstein uses the word "simply". It says nothing about brevity. They are two different things. A simple explanation is not always brief, and a brief explanation is not always simple.

Apparently some things on this thread aren't simple enough I guess...could have fooled me. The content of these forums tends to be fairly simple (except perhaps when Oriz gets on, or a couple others).

Also - There is no source for the quote and it is unlikely that Einstein ever said it, though he may have said something similar. I'm not familiar with a time Einstein ever explained his theories of relativity "simply", so perhaps he didn't understand as much as he thought?

Ironically the guy you accused of not being in the thread started it.  🤣

You misunderstand.

I was talking about the actual meaningful discussion that has been had here, albeit briefly.

I don't care much about attention seeking, memes, or claims of "triggering" without any actual triggering going on except from those seeking the attention.

I'm at my computer, and these forums happen to be open on my browser. It really doesn't take that much to reply to you. Is it difficult for you to reply to me? Apologies if I'm giving you a hard time.
