Hi  could I ask do I need to get my jabs done now or wait for the medical and they let you know which ones to get?

Thanks

They have a list of the required ones, in my case case I have my certified vaccination record.

This are the required ones (USCIS)

https://www.uscis.gov/news/questions-and-answers/vaccination-requirements

If it's cheaper taking it by a local doctor, and they issue a Vaccination Certification, well, take it , but, if you don´t know what  Immunization vaccines you taked, they are going to vaccinate you again. And is going to be expensive (depending the country).

Go to your NHS doctor and get the immunizations you will need. Many NHS doctors will do them for free, but they are not obligated to do so for immigration purposes. Get the shots documented by your doctor to take to your visa medical exam. If your doctor should say you don’t need something on this list, remember you have to go by US rules and that differs from UK standards. Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:

  • Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster. Note: P does not stand for polio. You need pertussis, however in the U.K., you may have had a childhood jab of DTP plus polio...a four in one vaccine.
  • MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical.
  • Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive varicella shots for IR1/CR1s as "not routinely available".
  • Influenza – Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31. Required of everyone over 6 months of age.

You do not have to get every shot shot on the long immigration list. Many of those are not age appropriate for adults. Focus on the list given here. If your doctor won't give you a flu jab, go to Boots or a grocery store clinic.

Ok, so you recommend getting the jabs done now while I wait for the noa2 to come through.

On another note did you get the police report quite easy here in the UK?

Thanks

Yes get them well before your visa medical.  You may get them free. If you wait for your visa medical, you'll pay their high prices. The cost is already £300 and shots would be extra.  I was not charged by my GP.

See the travel nurse or shot nurse and find out what you may already have like MMRs. Most who had DTP as a child (or DTP+polio) need a booster because the Tetanus part expires every 10 yrs. Tetanus/Diptheria is the booster.

Say yes to having chickenpox at the visa medical and you skip Varicella. Some NHS practices will only give flu shots to children and elderly. If enough time passes while you wait on NOA2 and NVC, and it's after March 31 for your medical, then you won't need a flu jab either. So might as well hold off on that depending on your timeline.

Police certificate was easy and only took 1-2 weeks. It is good for 12 months.

Did you pay £45 for the police report?

I want to make sure I am on the correct website

Thanks

It is £45. https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx

If it comes back and says "No Trace", all is good. If it says "No Live Trace" that means you have a hidden or stepped down conviction and need to order a Subject Access Report as well for your interview. That one takes longer. It will include things that were stepped down or cautions, for example.
