Yes, you need all the shots they request, before they issue your visa.

I was missing 1 out of 3 which they now give in a cocktail and when I was little seperate except for that one and I needed they whole cocktail. I did pay $ 50 for that one in my country The Netherlands.

I have no idea what they'll charge you there.

St. Lukes doesn't carry the tetanus vaccine so Claudeth also had to get it once she arrived here. The civil surgeon who did the supplemental for us gave it to her and it wasn't all that expensive. Just make sure you call around when looking for a civil surgeon, the prices can vary by a lot. Good luck

In some cities or counties, the Health Department administers vaccines free of charge.

In our county, they have certain days of the month on which they offer this service.

They can give you a slip showing they vaccinated you and you can take that to the US Civil Surgeon for completion of the I693A.

I can't remember if this shot hurts or not. Most do.

The tetanus shot does hurt a little but is well worth the pain!

I have had this tetnus shot done in South Africa, and cannot remember being in as much discomfort as I was a month ago when I had to have it done here.

The injection itself wasn't painful, but it's the after effects that are not so great. Not to scare you or anything, coz the doctor says that it is different on everyone, so I think I was one of the group that kinda got the whole deal :)

Ask to have it done either on the arm that you don't use or on your bum. I was useless for almost a week, couldn't lift my arm, couldn't sleep on that side, even slept in different beds from my husband the first night.

But like I say, we all handle it differently, so hopefully yours will be a positive one.

Good Luck
