birth certificate in english?!

Hi everyone,

 

My friend is adjusting her status after coming here on a K1, and she received a RFIE for her birth certificate needing to be translated to english, however she is from the UK and her birth certificate is in english. She's freaking out a little bit, so all I could suggest is to send it again and write a letter explaining that her birth certificate is in english. Has anyone else seen this problem or had this problem, and if so what did they do??

I too am adjusting status after arriving on a K1, and recently received an RFIE saying I had not provided evidence of my birth, even though I'd included my full UK birth certificate. I just replied to the RFIE sending my birth certificate again. They may have lost it when handling her AOS pack, although I'm convinced that they sometimes do it so that their processing times don't look as bad, as they can point to 'X' number of cases required further evidence hence why they haven't been processed.

 

The only thing I would make sure is that your friend supplies the full 'long-form' version of their UK birth certificate, as I know they won't accept the shorter version.

what the hell that would be so cheeky. have you applied for your employment and advanced parole too, and do you think this will hurt the processing time for that too?

I have applied for EAD and Advanced Parole too. Although I applied for all 3 at the same time, I believe they are all processed separately . I received 3 separate NOA1s, and the RFIE only applied to the AOS pack, so I'm hoping that it wont impact the others.

Interview Scheduled: Jan 2nd - I managed to get someones canceled appointment the very same day my case status turned to Ready.

Biometrics: Mexico City Dec 27th Medical: Mexico City Dec 28th

Case says READY but consulate says case is not in system, I jumped the gun and booked an interview but they say its invalid until I receive the letter so I might have to cancel it.

Appointment Letter: Flew to Juarez just to get this, its actually 2 letters you need.

Interview Day: Jan 2nd   Interview Result: APPROVED

Tracking Number Received: Via email notice and website the afternoon of Jan 4th    Visa Delivered: Friday Jan 5th Mexico City

USCIS Notice - Green Card mailed: 3/28/18

This was my first thought, they seem to have a generic RFE for resending a birth certificate. This has been the case for U.K. fliers previously.

Make sure the birth certificate is the version with parent names on it. Many from the U.K. have a "short form" version they used at school. That isn't sufficient without parent names.
