Many immigrants play any game just for to get in US and even being paid by the sponsor or US government and not working. Americans do play the system too, I know one case about the young daughter of one friend, she was asking her father's symptoms for to play being bipolar, afraid of being outdoors and the back pain, all of them not showing in any analysis or any scan, based just on her words and description she got her social security disability based on what symptoms she was saying, got a permanent supply of painkillers and works as a stripper paid cash, paid disability and several children she has with different fathers children money, food stamps, big money she gets this way, drugs and alcohol involved. Some immigrants come to US not to work but scam, cheat and still saying Americans are dumb. Don't be dumb, protect yourself

hmmm, he quits his not bad pay job, he is advised by some friend(s), he claims he is bipolar, your mom said ... he wants your financial support forever.

You never saw his bipolar diagnosis, maybe he is sick or maybe he is playing it ... I would do the Annulment at any cost and by Fraud and him being mentally unstable, I would get screenshots the way I could him and his mother saying this and that. God saved you from losing your daughter, if he adopted her, he could get a full custody and not working watching you suffering, be very careful and let's hope his friend(s) are advising him badly for to see him losing

The government doesn't quite work like that.
I can't just go apply for disability by mere words of imaginary symptoms and get a monthly check. 
Medical records are required.
Something is missing from that story.
 

OP has already stated that she knew early on that he was bipolar.

The drama stops when she divorces (or annulment whatever) and moves on with her life.
The drama worsens if she tries to appear genuine but isn't just to entrap him for evidence for something not even needed !

He is here, he is getting a GC any day and that's it. A bit too late to withdraw the affidavit of support.
Let him and 'immigration figure out what to do, she should just MOVE ON with her life in my opinion.
He is clearly not right in his mind and acting disturbed and if he wants to leave or stay here is his decision.

Nothing is missing, that girl was going to the doctors, creating medical records, complaining, getting prescription and every day calling her father asking how it hurts and where, some disability sickness doesn't show in blood test or x-rays, she picked exactly what can't be proved by analysis or screening  and was working on it for 2-3 years, it was her day job going to the doctors and complaining, she was denied first, then the lawyer and appeal and she got it, it's the real story and I saw it with my own eyes, she got her disability and yes, it works, please, ask or do your own research

I am at a loss on what to say after reading the previous few pages...

 

August- I can tell you people will do what they want to do no matter what advice is given to them. You have two different paths laid out for you here. One is to let it go, let him go and focus on yourself and what you need to do. The other is to facilitate the drama and you seem to be inclined to the latter. So best of luck with that.

you really don't understand. She has 2 options, true

1. do everything possible NOW, including if it's drama and fix your life, make the Annulment possible and NO DRAMA after that, live the new life

or

2. let it go, do simple divorce and worry all your life with which drama he will come again and again and again ... spouse support, police calling, showing at work, his ups and downs ... who knows what else, maybe more, you never know, the people who doesn't like to work gets very creative in cheating and getting money from others causing troubles

Annulment or Divorce has no impact on the amount of drama.

if he goes for sickness, disability and financial support, it's a huge difference between

- Annulment by Fraud and mental insanity which makes it hard, almost impossible for him to sue her for spouse support even with Affidavit in place

- Divorce and keep being responsible paying for his living, let him sue you and make any kind of trouble

I really don't understand, why people here is so against the Annulment? If the marriage was fake, if this couple didn't live together in US even for 1 month, is it the real marriage? Should the person have the history of marriage and divorce???

 

Doesn't have the person in this or similar cases the right to make their personal history clean???

 

Some immigrants plan it all playing with our hearts, feelings, finances just for to come to America and we see so clear this kind of spouses come to US and go almost immediately for VAWA. If we know and we see, we were played in our best feelings, don't we have the right to stop it, to annul it and be with a clean record to look for better life? 

 

Or we should accept being played and do what is it better for the cheater record? Divorce and forget it or wait ... there it could be more using us, give them the opportunity to use you again for a spouse support. They do a good business here, 1 month living together and out claiming money on top of what was spent for to bring them here.

No doubt the shelter will help him. They usually have Immigration advocates.

I dont believe anyone here is against annulment. (However I can only speak for myself.) I believe the issue is your suggestion of entrapment. They have a toxic relationship. Suggesting she play games with someone with a mental illness is dangerous advice.

Not suggesting to play game, suggesting to get the same information she already got from his mother and himself but in screenshots, not going in person or anything more, chats online and it is necessary to get the information for to get the Annulment and be sure to stop totally the toxic relation,

 

The dangerous advice are giving all who say just forget, divorce and move on. Are you sure he will forget and move on with his life? Are you sure he won't cause more troubles after the divorce and she being nice forgetting all???
