Three cats sharing a bed - for the first time!

Remember little Tessie who I found in the street? She's not so little any more... and after a month here she's made herself right at home and she's part of the family. The other morning Silver and Tessie were lying on the bed before I got up, and Scouty came to join us so I grabbed the camera and took a snap of them...

March20022.jpg

And here's Tessie at the top of her brand new cat tree, ten minutes after I put it up... Scouty won't go near it and Silver only went on it when I picked her up and put her there - and then she fell off because she's too big! It's a kitten tree, not a cat tree...

March18060.jpg

Argh... the pic's too small and it won't let me edit it because it took 10 minutes to get a larger version uploaded :(

so here it is large enough to actually SEE the girls instead of little cat-shaped blobs...

okay, scratch that! photobucket resized it for me and I didn't need to change the URL - the new version of the photo went into the same 'space' as the old one did.

I miss having a kitty lounge on the bed....ours isn't allowed in the bedroom cuz of hubsters mild kitty allergies.

BUT, while he was away this weekend she got to sleep on the bed...it's like she knew it was forbidden, but she said aw screw it, I'm taking advantage and sleeping all night on the bed, so there!...I'm a cat afterall..LOL :luv:

Our girls only come and sleep on the bed if it's really cold... but Silver always comes for a cuddle first thing in the morning, and Tessie has started to copy her... while Scouty waits for me to go into the bedroom during the daytime and then she jumps up on the bed and says 'come and cuddle with me Meowmie!' and tries to lure me into a nap...

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I miss kitty cuddles....even though our girl is a sweetie, she has her own idea of personal space and when she sees fit to share hers with us, it's limited...LOL My last two kitties were major cuddlers. I wonder if she'd cuddle more, if she could sleep on the bed more often...and then hubster could sleep on the futon in the second bedroom....ahhahahahahahaaa!

I wish ours were more cuddly... the first few weeks, Tessie would spend ALL DAY in my arms purring and kneading and nuzzling me. It was so incredibly sweet... but as soon as I let her out of solitary confinement and she had a whole apartment to play in she lost interest in the snuggles... she'd much rather be playing and running around, or lying in the sun somewhere. :(

She's fine. She's probably had them since she was a kitten. The site I looked at for info said that cats get them by being bitten by an infected flea... and it doesn't hurt them unless they have TONS of the things in them. It's still gross though! It's also easy to treat - you can get a pill at the pet store that kills the icky things stone dead.

DH just got home and I asked him if he got the meds and he forgot... :( He'd better get it tomorrow or I'll be really cross! I want to get her treated and then scrub the house again... they may be harmless to humans but I DON'T WANT THEM HERE!

Further evidence that she's just fine - she's playing with the pompom ball chasing it around the house with her tail lashing and her eyes as big as saucers :)

I just saw where you are....Florida....I lived in Florida for a few years and the kitties always had fleas it seemed like. They were dipped, powdered, etc...but they never seemed to go away (the fleas that is).

I'm glad I'm up north in the cold...LOL

Hope you get rid of them soon enough!

Since our girls are inside-only in an upstairs apartment, fleas are one thing we don't have to worry about... though our new neighbours have two annoying dogs - I hope their dogs are treated for fleas regularly or we'll have to start medicating the girls! The vet told us we didn't need to give them flea medicine unless they were exposed to them, because they don't go outside to pick them up!~
