cairo packet 3

Ok here's the scoop. He called me to say that DHL had a package. I assumed it was packet 3.

He got home to get it and it only has one letter stating that "included is a package with instructions" blah blah blah.

But they didn't include anything.......

Do you think DHL lost it or did the embassy just forget to put the package in the envelope? Who do I call about this?

fyi also it says that once your papers are complete send them in and within 10 days you will receive an interview date.

Is that standard lingo or are they finally getting their act together over there?

It didn't have the DS156 & 157? If not, that's weird.......but, don't worry you can just download them, fill them out, & send them.

the 10 day thing is definitely standard lingo.....we've been waiting a lot longer than that.

not to sound like too much of a moron but technically he is the one that fills those out right? I just fill out the 134?

So because they sent it to us officially we're ok to just fill the stuff out and send it in then hopefully. I don't know if it's a checklist...he said it's a letter. He said he'll show it to me tonight but the way his voice sounded he was fading fast so we'll see if he's still awake at 8pm when I'm home. lol

I know you will have good luck, and this is just someone not doing their job to put this in the envelope..... Seeing this had made my day brighter that maybe my journey will be short like yours.

Thanks for the congrats.

Well we chatted and he showed me the letter. It definitely was *supposed* to be packet 3 but the doofuses at the embassy forgot to put it in the pkg. He said he's gonna to the embassy the next time it's open and see if they'll give him another one. He doesn't live far so it's no biggie thank goodness. Otherwise maybe someone on here can lemme know what the instructions say since he only got that one letter saying the instructions are attached and once you complete the forms you'll get your interview date in 10 days. HA!!! lol

I think all we really need is the list of doctors since I pretty much know what to include but it would still be nice to actually see it in writing. Plus with all these new rules, like the passport fiasco, I have to wonder if even the instructions change weekly or something. Hopefully they'll give it to him at the embassy. He can really be a pain in the butt..heck I'd give it to him if it were me he was pestering. lol

I forgot to add the fees:

The physical exam costs L.E. 80.

The fee for the blood test venereal disease is L.E. 40

Hiv test is approximately L.E. 75

The chest X-Ray is L.E. 65.

And when he goes to the dr he should present his passport. copies of any prior medical records,3 photos that will be attached to the report, any prior X rays, and immunization records if he doesn't have any proof of records of any immunizations he will be given the immunizations at the time of his medical exam. Come on now, do you really believe they will issue a spousal visa without an interview? It's just typical Cairo BS.

My Fiance noticed in the Packet she received from the embassy that it had (2) DS-156 forms but not the DS-156K form. She took pictures of all these forms so she was able to send me what all was included in the packet.

I also received the letter stating the 10 day notification for an interview appointment and then the part of the packet talking about the 6 weeks for a interview from part of the package.

Damn, too late, I helped her when I realized it I downloaded the form and sent it to her.

I'd rather work on everything together with her and make sure its all correct so I dont get any RFE's or get told we dont have enough whatever and delay more time.
